We enjoyed our stay at this lovely apartment in the very centre of Barcelona.
There is a nice living room + kitchen area with stylish looking exposed bricks and Gaudi style mosaic decoration. Everything looked exactly like on the photos. The living room gets plenty of natural light pretty much all day (even though it usually isn't direct, which I liked as the place didn't get too hot). There are two small balconies to use if you feel like letting some fresh air in.
Kitchen was well-equipped - fridge, freezer, oven, cooker, plates, pans, pots, coffee maker etc.
There is a telly and WiFi available, but the internet isn't too great (fine for browsing, struggled with video calls). Marianne (the owner) was really kind and contacted Movistar (the local provider) to upgrade it, but they wouldn't speak any English. I still appreciate the nice gesture though.
The apartment is equipped with a powerful heating/aircon which works well. It was slightly colder than expected during the winter, but that's mainly because Spanish buildings aren't build to preserve heat (because of hot summers). It wasn't a big deal in general.
Bedroom was pretty, with comfortable mattresses and a spacious wardrobe. There is one small balcony as well, but its facing an inner block of buildings with balconies, which tend to get a bit noisy on Friday and Saturday evenings if it's still warm outside. Luckily, it only happened a couple of times during our January - May stay.
The bathroom is pretty and spacious, but there was a slight issue with old pipes - sometimes it smelled like a sewer :( This isn't related to the apartment itself, it simply is an old building, and buildings like these commonly have such issues.
The area is very, very central. It's super close to anywhere (just two minutes from La Rambla). Metros Placa Catalunya and Urqinaona are in the walking distance. The actual street where the apartment is located in is surprisingly chilled and quiet, even though it looked a bit creepy during the night and attracts the homeless to have a nap. Nevertheless, we felt pretty safe in the area.
Marianne was a great host and always replied in a timely manner. There were a few minor issues that she was happy to help us with, and she was a great host in general.
