Description

Enjoy this charming and quirky 2 bedroom apartment in an old farm house on the outskirts of Suttons Bay village. This home is nestled in a lovely setting on a one acre lot with a creek running through the front yard. It’s convenient to everything: beaches, hiking trails, bike/ski trail, art galleries, a variety of dining, brew pub, wine tasting, ice cream, local movie theatre, tennis courts, playgrounds, boating, etc. The Leelanau TART Trail is around the corner and Hermann Park with 4 new tennis courts is across the street. The apartment is part of a duplex and features plenty of space with a kitchen, dining room, living room, porch, two bedrooms, and 1.5 baths. Cottage style furnishings make this home comfortable and cozy for you to enjoy your stay in Northern Michigan.

Our apartment sleeps 5 people comfortably with 2 bedrooms featuring queen size beds, one up a narrow set of stairs and one downstairs. There is also a single bed on its box spring in the upstairs landing or nook area, which can be a nice option for a school age child. In addition, there is a futon couch on the porch though this is not a heated space.

The kitchen is stocked with plenty of cookware, dishes, coffee maker, 3 burner stove/oven, microwave and small sized refrigerator. You’ll fine some tea and spices in the cupboard making it comfortable to eat in if you’re not going out.

The living room, dining room and porch all have comfy seating options and we have a number of games, puzzles, books and a small dvd collection for rainy days or just hanging out. Linens and towels are provided but you’ll want to bring your own beach towels.

Parking is about 30 yards from the house, between the creek and the house.

Our home is part of a duplex. Your space will be the main part of the house; an efficiency apartment is on the backside of the house. The house is also in a neighborhood with homes on either side, but the home is set back from the road and you’ll find plenty of shaded space in the front yard. We are on the edge of the village so both biking and walking are feasible for access to shopping, dining, beaches, parks. Expect to walk several blocks to get to the heart of the village. There is a woodland path to the TART trail, which makes for a nice walk to the village. Traverse City is about a 20 minute drive and Leland is about a 10 minute drive. Both the Sleeping Bear Dunes and the tip of Northport are also easily accessible for an afternoon of fun.

Règlement intérieur
L'entrée dans les lieux se fait à partir de 16:00

Please enjoy this space as you would your own home. You're welcome to use whatever is here. Please know that we have worked to create a comfortable and charming space - the art, the furnishings and the house itself are important to us. No smoking. No pets.

My husband and I and one other couple thoroughly enjoyed our Labor Day weekend stay at Kate's home in Suttons Bay. Before our arrival, Kate provided detailed instructions for accessing the home as well as great recommendations for the area. The home was very comfortable for the four of us with each couple having their own space. The pictures do not capture the spaciousness of each bedroom or how lovely and relaxing the dining room is. While we spent the majority of our time exploring all the area has to offer during the day and evening, the home was a great place for us to wind down at the end of the night with its great enclosed porch/mudroom and nice front yard for star gazing. The location of the home can't be beat - whether you are interested in taking a bike ride on the beautiful Leelanau Trail which is mere minutes away from the home, visiting wineries, breweries or cideries, or visiting the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Kate's home is highly recommend for small groups and families looking to visit Leelanau County.

Kate's Airbnb was a great up north, cozy feel. It was the perfect location to visit the surrounding area. One day we wine hopped around the peninsula and the second day we did some hiking at Sleeping Bear Dunes. Both destinations were short drives from the Airbnb. The home had a lot of space for multiple guests. It was a nice gesture for them to supply games and DVDs to use if needed. Downtown Sutton's Bay is right around the corner and had a great breakfast buffet spot for Sunday Brunch called VI Grill. Kate had great communication with us before our stay and gave us great tips on things to do in the area. Thank you for the great stay, we had a wonderful time. :)

Kate was very prompt in replying to my questions. The house was as described. It is in a great location for visiting places like, Sleeping Bear, Glen Arbor, Leland, Traverse City, and many wineries.

We loved our stay in Suttons Bay. The home was in a great location, close to downtown, the beach, a park and many wineries. The home was spacious and provided a lot of seating and sleeping options. Having 1 1/2 bathrooms was helpful as well! The house was nicely equipped with linens and kitchen wares, along with books, games, DVDs and local attraction pamphlets. You can see that the owners have put a lot of attention into the care of the inside of this home. A very thorough and informative email was provided to us prior to our stay with all of the necessary information. A kitchen update was indicated to be planned for the near future, which will make the home even better as it currently lacks a full size refrigerator. The outside of the home does not have a lot of curb appeal, but is functional with a fenced in yard. Parking is not ideal as the close to the house parking is reserved for the other half of the duplex. There was a bit of noise and car traffic created from having an attached neighbor, but it did not detract from our pleasant stay. Overall, we were very happy with the home and our stay and would recommend it to friend!

We had a wonderful time at Kate's cottage. There was lots of room and the location was perfect for Sutton's Bay and the surrounding area. We brought our bikes and used the nearby trail to bike into town. Everything was very close and accessible. We would love to stay here again.

Kate was great to work with. The home is lovely and it was nice to have a spacious home to relax in for a few days. My expectations were surpassed by how close we were to town. We frequently walked about a half mile to eat, shop and go to the beach. The home was clean and pleasant.
