We wanted to get away from crowded Colorado and spend the labor day weekend somewhere else, with our dog. It's so hard to find a place to stay with dogs, let alone a comfortable place to stay for both humans and dogs, so this place was perfect! Stan was a very welcoming host, and we immediately felt right at home. Everyone we met while we were on his farm were very warm and friendly. Stan had two dogs, and there were other dogs from the neighborhood, his guest's dog, etc, so our dog had lots of other dogs to play with. The guest house was perfect for two adults and a dog. Downstairs where the bedroom and bathroom are located stayed cool throughout the day, which was nice. We didn't cook anything, but the kitchen was fully equipped. Taos seemed closer than GPS said, so if you are visiting Taos with your pets, this place is still a great option. If you have an older dog, the spiral staircase might be hard to navigate, because it's rather steep and narrow, as you can see in one of the pictures. Other than that, I think this is a perfect place for anyone looking to get away! Oh, I have to mention that we loved the mattress! It was super cushy and comfy! We slept in more than we should have every morning. The river access to Rio Grande for water activities was 5 minutes away, and two wineries were within 3 miles. Check out the restaurant called "Sugar Nymphs" in Panasco. We went there for brunch, and were pleasantly surprised! Very good restaurant in a small town which seemed like a middle of nowhere. It was short, but a great visit. I'd love to go back there when they harvest the garlic.
