The House o' Bliss is at the center of Nashville: downtown, Music Row, the Music City Center, Hillsboro Village, the Gulch, Berry Hill recording studios, Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities, 12South, the Eighth Ave. antique shops and very close to most of Nashville's best music venues. (The rate includes all applicable taxes so you will have no surprises when booking; see "Other Things to Note" below for details.)
Built in 1905, the House o' Bliss (aptly named many years ago by friends) is a spacious, comfortable historic home with a fun vibe. We, your hosts, are a singer-songwriter and a designer. Our home is filled with original art and music from our travels and from our many creative friends.
We’re located in the fun and eclectic Eighth Ave. historic district, at the center of the best Nashville has to offer: downtown honkytonks, Music Row, the new Music City Center, Hillsboro Village, the Gulch, Berry Hill recording studios, Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities, 12South. An inexpensive Uber or Lyft ride gets you to all these locations for about $5. (Downtown parking is often $20, especially during events).
Built in 1905, the House o' Bliss is in the quiet, friendly, historic Woodland-in-Waverly neighborhood, with sidewalks and lots of trees, conveniently just off I-65. Within walking distance are coffee shops, restaurants, a comedy club (Zany’s) a music venue (Douglas Corner Cafe), Gruhn Guitars, and lots of mid-century and antique stores and the Metro bus stop. Just up the street are music venues The Basement, Grimey’s New & Preloved Music, The Mercy Lounge, Cannery Ballroom, the Tap Room and 3rd & Lindsley.
Though we work at home, we respect our guests’ privacy. We’re always glad, however, to help with directions or suggestions at your request. Guests may enjoy coffee or tea in the sunroom downstairs, or at the cafe tables on the back deck or front porch. Coffee and an electric kettle for tea will always be set up on the kitchen island for your use, along with cream and a variety of teas and sweeteners. Guests may also use the fridge and microwave, but no stove-top cooking please. There is no television in the guest bedroom, but you are welcome to the large screen HD-TV in the comfortable, downstairs private living room/library.
Our home is in compliance with Metro Nashville permit requirements. The space offered is dedicated to airbnb guests only. It is very private, clean, functional and uncluttered. We have no pets so the house is great for those with allergies.

Your space includes a large bedroom with two twin beds, private full bath and a separate reading nook under a huge stained-glass window–in case you or your roommate wish a bit of privacy. The bedroom with twin beds is perfect for those buddies who are traveling together, and would like to split the cost of a room. All of the upstairs, except the recording studio (with a promise to be quiet when guests are present!) is dedicated to our guest(s). WIFI is fast, reliable and secure.
There is plenty of space for your things in the bedroom, plus a nook with desk, just right for setting up your laptop. The bedroom has large windows that open for great breezes, an electric radiator heater in case you like a toastier temperature, wall to wall antique Persian carpet, and reading lights over each bed. All bath towels and rugs and bedroom linens are new and dedicated to guest use only. Towels are 100% cotton, thick and soft, and the bed sheets are 630 thread count Egyptian cotton. Each bed also has a down-substitute comforter and cotton matelasse spread with two big pillows each.
The bathroom is brand new, and features marble tile, a large shower with a big skylight (fun for watching the squirrels bouncing around the tree limbs while you’re showering), a 10-inch rain shower, plus a 3-setting removable shower head. Also in the bathroom are a space heater and electric fan, to keep it just like you like it. We always have liquid soaps and shower gel on hand, a hair dryer, and basic bathroom supplies.
