With the beach under a mile away, bike trails nearby, hiking trail heads within a short drive, there are lots of ways to enjoy the amazing weather of Santa Barbara.
As said on the Travel Channel... "Santa Barbara: The American Riviera
With oceanfront views, cinematic festivals and fine wine, Santa Barbara has been called the "American Riviera" -- with a twist. The coastal city also comes with a down-home style all its own.
For the past 70 years the area has this name due to its resemblance to the slopes along the Mediterranean coast of France and Italy. Santa Barbarans lucky enough to live on these ridges enjoy unsurpassed views of the mountains, sea and islands.
Away from the crowds and traffic, within a few minute drive from our home you'll find everything you may want. Get some healthy exercise by walking to Hendry's Beach (aka Arroyo Burro Beach Park) with the famous Boathouse Restaurant at the bottom of the hill.
A little further down Cliff drive, you'll find Mesa Produce, a great location for locally grown food, and Lazy Acres health food store, along with all the typical stores and shops. Keep going for a few more minutes and you are in downtown Santa Barbara.
Our city is well known for its cultural events - theater, film, music of all sorts, from our local symphony orchestra to the County Bowl and its myriad musical selections. It is also known for its sporting events, ranging from marathons to beach volleyball to basketball at the Thunderdome.
Whatever your interests might be, we would feel honored to help guide you to having the best vacation here possible.

A request: If you have posted no information about yourself on your sitepage and especially if there are no referrals, will you please tell me something about yourself - what you do, where you live, what you like in life? I feel uncomfortable saying yes to someone about whom I know nothing. Thanks so much!
I have lived in Santa Barbara since the late '70's, shortly after graduating from McGill Law School in Montreal. My three children were born and raised here, spending their elementary school years at our local Waldorf school, which I helped create. My son is a film producer in LA, my middle daughter is Chief of Staff for a major accounting firm in London and my youngest is a Naturopathic physician who will be moving home soon to start her healing practice in town.
I am responsible for the design and construction of our home of 25 years. I founded a green building non profit company shortly before and used those principles of construction to build our home. The intention has become to create beneficient cycles of sustainability and regeneration using permaculture and bio-dynamic principles.
Twelve years ago I became very sick, which caused me to research and implement healing modalities, many of which are reflected in the healthy nature of our home and land.
I have a deep spiritual foundation and am seeking to establish the Universal Life Church of Earth First Living, which will incorporate all that I have learned and lived over these decades.
Together with my partner, we look forward to hosting you so that you might experience the wonders of Santa Barbara within a healthy and quiet home environment. I have been very active in this city all my adult life and I am eager to share with you what I know. Welcome!
