We're glad you enjoyed the house and the beach! Yes, the water situation during your stay was unfortunate. It was limited due to a very dry period in the area for the past couple of months due to the La Niña weather pattern. You would have found the same situation of asking you to limit your water use (by taking short showers, not running water while doing dishes or brushing your teeth) at many houses in the area, and in some you would have been restricted to water use at only certain times of day due to town restrictions (which is not the case at our house). These ups and downs are a reality of living in a somewhat remote and very beautiful place on the edge of the jungle. The lack of rain also meant that you had incredibly beautiful weather for your stay! It started raining 2 days after you left and now the water tanks are full! We did not cut off your water supply or restrict it, we just asked you to be conscious of it. You never mentioned to us about your husband's shower, but when you asked if the water had been cut off, Mike apologetically explained that at the moment the water ran out it must have been because the one water tank ran out and needed to be switched but we happened to be out. Very sorry for that blip. As we have a lovely baby, we like to be welcoming to families at the house, and didn't mind your cute little girl using all the kitchen items as toys or mind the sounds of her crying or coughing fits, but that was why we kept our distance a bit (we were nervous of our child catching what she might have - I hope she's feeling better). We also like to see our guests enjoying a dinner or cocktail hour and normally they don't seem to mind if we occasionally do the same. Most also seem to enjoy the bar and benches with cushions as well as the hammocks and hammock chairs (the house is exactly as pictured in the photos). A bedside lamp is a good idea and we will look into it. We always feel the most important things in a vacation apartment are really comfortable beds and pillows, good kitchen utensils, and comfortable places to lounge, so that was our focus in furnishing the apartment. In my opinion toilet brushes are unsanitary. Our cleaning woman thoroughly cleans the toilets and everything else between guests and weekly for longer stays. Again, glad you enjoyed your time here and in Costa Rica. Pura Vida.
