We cannot say enough great things about our stay here with Pang and her family (including their painfully cute daughter who is the life and soul of the place!).
Arrival was made super smooth -- even though we arrived at 1.30am after delayed bus -- with Natinee (the sister of Pang who was abroad) on .
After a quick check in with the husband who had so kindly waited up for us, we slept then were offered a room change the following day so we were further from the road and less disturbed by traffic noise. Our 'cabin' was comfortable with a huge bed, big shower, fridge, and good wifi.
The family, as other reviewers have mentioned, is what really makes your stay though. On our second evening we went to the market with Pang and a few other guests to prepare a dinner for us all. We all chipped in for the food and beer and prepared a meal under Pang's instructions. The food was delicious traditional Thai, then we all popped round the corner for a nightcap at the local bar.
The homestay's location (Sukhothai new town) is favourable to the Old Town as there is much more in the way of food/drink options. Rent a moto or take a bus to the Historic park 13km away (we prefer motos for the freedom to explore).
Our highlight however was the spontaneous fashion catwalk simulations, with all manner of hair-swooshing and lip pouting, from their lovely little girl. So full of personality, energy, and with a hilariously mature sense of humour for someone so young. We wanted to take her with us when we left!
You'll have a great time staying here and at the park too. Just ask before you book if you can have one of the cabins away from the road, as it was a bit loud at rush hour that first morning!
6 stars, lovely people, lovely place! Thanks Pang and family :D
