Rene was great at keeping up communication throughout our stay and we got into the apartment just fine. Its in a central location with lots of street parking right out front, and it is cheap and easy to uber to spots in Echo Park and Silver Lake. I think the price is a bit steep for the apartment though - in the hot summer you have to keep the windows open, but there is a lot of light from the street and a lot of noise from traffic all through the night. Overall its a good place if you're just looking to crash for a night.

We stayed with Rene when my friends and I were attending E3 and it worked out really well. We were able to get into the place just fine and the 3 of us fit snugly since we brought a blow up mattress (there is just one bed and a couch) although some may think it's a little cramped for 3. The room has all the basics you would need except for towels. Luckily we brought some towels with us, but unless the listing is updated be sure to bring your own. The place is nicely decorated and we used the nice big TV to watch movies and play some games. The WiFi was also very fast (around 50mbps). There is a Rite Aid and Vons within walking distance and a couple of fast food places pretty close as well. Parking seemed a bit sketchy because you have to park at the Rite Aid across from the building where it says there is towing, but Rene assured us that that was where everyone parked and we were fine. Just be sure to not park in the empty lot right next to the place because the gates close every morning which would trap your car in there until the night. Only a 10-15min ride to the convention center for anyone that needs to get there (we used Uber to get there everyday so we didn't have to find and pay for parking and it worked great). We never got to actually meet Rene during our trip, but he promptly answered all of our questions and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere to crash in downtown LA!

Rene is a chill host, very flexible and made our check in work out despite a last minute reservation. However, this is a space made for maximum 2 grown ups since the sofa bed is not tall enough to sleep an average sized person, and there was no bed linen for it either. Place could have been cleaner, kitchen wasn't, but bathroom was fresh. No AC made it super hot, a floor fan would have worked a treat...The street is a very busy one, and the building is old, so noise from the neighbors did bother us during our stay.
