À propos de ce logement

Built by John DiPol, designer of the world-famous Ladera resort, Villa Piton elaborates on the open-aired concept toward a stunning culmination in a refined experience of the Island's natural splendor; and all while cultivating intimate privacy.

Le logement

It is certain, this is a place unrivaled. We owe tribute for the architecture to the American designer, John DiPol, who built the Villa Piton as his masterpiece and private residence.

Employing DiPol's trademark “open air"-concept, the home expresses its rich surroundings by fusing the lush natural landscape with native St. Lucian materials and furniture to engender a space without bounds.

The natural gray St. Lucian granite and Greenheart woodwork rise gently from its place, high upon the ridge between St. Lucia's most celebrated Pitons, as if nature had intended it.

Outside the home, DiPol's vision of rolling rooflines and louvered Greenheart Jalousie doors combine sweeping openness with absolute privacy. Subtleties in the architecture play upon the old French mill design, preserving the villa's Old World heritage within its Caribbean overtones. Throughout the inside of the villa the red cedar, greenheart and granite stone couple effortlessly with hand-laid terra cotta tile floors, colorful traditional Italian mosaics and local woodcarvings and sculpture art, adding color and texture to compliment the design.

Accès des voyageurs

As our guest you have access to all the public spaces within the villa itself and the one acre grounds and lawn. The only locked space is the garage and one small owners closet.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

Our villa staff includes Mary our cook and housekeeper and her brother Gregory, the gardener and pool person. How you choose to allow them access during your stay is your wish. Mary can cook for you if you like or you can do this yourself. If you're honeymooning or celebrating an anniversary, you might wish to have privacy all week. Or Mary can stop in one day to do laundry. You choose.

Villa Piton comes stocked with all bed linens and bath and beach towels. So the only thing you need to bring is a bathing suit and sunscreen! We also suggest a good hat and of course sunglasses!

Laundry service can be provided at a charge of $10.00per load. Mary will do her best to insure great service but guests are responsible for their own items and not hold the host responsible for any damages resulting from same.

We can provide shopping service for food to be available at the villa for guests arriving especially on Sundays when stores are closed or for those guests not wishing to be burdened by shopping on their way from the airport. The service charge for this shopping and delivery is $40.00US. We do not provide the service but rather contract it out and thus do not benefit from providing this service to our guests.

Autres remarques

Your arrival will be as simple as possible with an airport shuttle from Hewanorra Airport, St Lucia to Villa Piton provided by us! This complimentary shuttle applies to airport transfer only! In other words we shuttle you to and from Villa Piton if you fly in and out the days of your stay start and departure. If you are presently on island your transportation to Villa Piton is your cost although we suggest you use Bens West Coast Jeeps as your carrier! We highly recommend a rental car during your stay and will help you with the details and make that simple as well. For example, you can have a rental car delivered to Villa Piton the evening of your arrival or the next morning, which ever you prefer. We can help with either! We like to work with Ben's West Coast Jeeps as he'll be picking you at the airport and helping with shopping on the way to the villa. We offer cooked meals as a service by our cook and housekeeper Mary on the night of arrival or any night of your stay for a cooking fee of 30EC ($12.00US)per person. You provide the groceries, local fresh caught fish or vegetables, and Mary cooks and cleans for you at the equivalent of $12.00 per person per meal. This too makes the arrival process easy and relaxing! Ask about menu options when you speak with us and we'll be happy to arrange a local dinner prepared as you like it! If your arrival is scheduled for a Sunday please be aware mostly all stores are closed for food shopping and we recommend having us procure your groceries to stock the fridge and kitchen! The fee is $40US plus grocery invoice.
Villa Piton has Internet service which can be at times interrupted by the fact that our service provider actually wired it on coconut trees! Because of this fact sometimes service is interrupted. The equipment inside the villa is three state of the art WiFi hubs. This normally provides good service everywhere. The router is provided by our Internet provider and is also new.
There are no bath tubs in any of the three baths at Villa Piton but rather hand tiled showers. Three showers in total in three bath rooms.

Absolutely fabulous! Don't think twice about booking this little castle! It's paradise. The photos don't do it justice. The view is literally breathtaking. The drive to the villa from the main road will make you feel like you're entering another world all your own, and yet you're only 10 minutes to the Ladera resort and 15 to Soufriere. Mary and her girls were total sweethearts and cooked us the most amazing lobster I've ever had in my life. I have nothing but praise for the villa and wouldn't stay anywhere else on the island! We even stayed at Jade mountain resort one night and I'd take the villa anytime over that! Thanks for an amazing stay guys!

Never could we imagine how beautiful the location of this beautiful villa was. The island was so lush, tropical and amazing. Waking up each morning and seeing the Pitons was dreamlike. Kermit was very sweet and informative. We were able to do most of what the Island offered, Mudbaths, Waterfalls, Piton Hikes, boating, snorkeling and hanging with some of the Locals. Met a guy down by Sugar Beach who was so very helpful and hung with us most of the time. when hanging with a local, you tend to see more of what others do not. Ile Dominique took care of us and we even enjoyed a dinner with his family on our last night. We were honored. Mary and Gregory were very sweet. Gregory opened coconuts for us and couldn't have been sweeter. In pictures, the home looks great, but seeing it first hand.....indescribable. It was pure heaven, and this trip has meant so much to us all. Literally, we all shed a tear on our last day because we didn't want it to end. I thought before hand the driving would be hard, but you quickly pick it up. The roads are twisting and turning and so cool to drive. You literally drive over fallen fruit in the road. Goats, cows, sheep, dogs, cats, birds....all the wildlife is amazing. The breezes coming through our rooms were amazing. Absolutely no need for air conditioning. The Home is very tastefully decorated. Beautiful little lizards and frogs constantly chirping to you. There is absolutely not one complaint about this heaven on earth. Rent a car for sure, Eat at local hole in the walls, Don't feel pressured to give to the locals, just politely say no. They will hound you, but like I said, if a local is with you this will not happen. Found that out on second day. I will forever cherish our moments here. I'm so happy Kermit is sharing this beautiful home with others. I feel super privileged. Made memories for a lifetime, and will always remember our time here.

Please believe me when I say that Kermit's home is spectacular. Our family enjoyed every minute of our stay - the accommodations are excellent, Mary's cooking was outstanding. Gregory brought fruits and even showed us how to clean and drink from a coconut. The Villa is close to most of the attractions. We rented vehicles, but we also had Ben take us to the rain forest - it was then I learned that we were staying at the best location on the island. I completely agree with the previous reviews - you should buy as much groceries as possible before arriving at the villa. The roads take a little getting use to - but that is all over St. Lucia. Whether you are on a honeymoon or staying with your children you will love Villa Piton!

It didn't take long to realize this is the best place to stay on the island. The view simply can't be beat. Kermit is fantastic at responding quickly to any questions you have before or during your trip. A few tips for your stay at Villa Piton: 1. A rental car is pretty much a necessity. Driving on the left side with narrow roads is quite scary at first, but you get used to it and it's the best way to see and do things on the island. Most everything (gros Piton, waterfalls, sulphur springs, hotel chocolat, ladera, etc) are within a 15-20 minute drive. We rented from Ben's as suggested by Kermit and have no complaints about the company. 2. You have to hike the Gros Piton (if you're physically capable). It's right down the road from the Villa. The climb is exhausting, but so worth it! 3. When you are picked up from the airport, ask for the driver to take you to the grocery store. Try to get everything you need for the week in 1 trip. This grocery store is much better than the one in soufriere, and a bit of a drive if you need to go a second time. 4. HAVE MARY COOK FOR YOU! We were hesitant to do so because we wanted to go out or cook ourselves, but after reading all the reviews in the guestbook at the house, we finally asked her to cook our last meal in St. Lucia. She is incredible, and it was probably the best food we ate all week. 5. If you don't ask otherwise, either mary or Gregory will be at the house every day cleaning the pool and whatnot. They are very sweet, however it is not ideal to have them show up bright and early every morning of your honeymoon. If you'd like some privacy, tell them (politely) they can take a few days off. They get paid the same whether they come or not, so you are not offending them by asking them not to come clean. 6. Martha's tables is the best local restaurant. The food is delicious and the prices are cheaper than resorts by far. If you have a car, follow the main road and make a left into the sugar beach entrance. Martha's will eventually be on your left and is a yellow building. 7. Even if you hike the Piton, the Tet Paul nature trail is still worth it (definitely do this if you aren't physically capable of the gros Piton). It's an easy walk with stunning views. You can even take a picture that looks like you're touching the top of the petit Piton! Other activities and food I can recommend: sulphur springs, toraille waterfall, botanical gardens and diamond waterfall (mineral baths here are not worth it), Piton waterfall, sugar beach, water taxi from sugar beach to anse chastanet, walk 10 min from anse chastanet to anse mamin (one you're there it's easy to see...

Villa Piton is a lovely house. The pictures, as beautiful as they are, do not do justice to the view. We appreciated the comfort and privacy of having our own villa as compared to staying in a resort. The rooms are extremely comfortable and enjoy wonderful breezes which makes for comfortable sleeping. The pool was very nice, we spent a couple of days just at the house resting and swimming in our own oasis! Mary and Gregory took great care of us. We recommend taking a water taxi from Sugar Beach to Anse Chastenet if you are interested in snorkeling other places, the road there is a challenge, even for local drivers! We had a wonderful stay and hope to return soon!

The most spectacular view that cannot be beaten. We were totally in love with the place. The outdoor/indoor space was breathtaking. The attention to detail was brilliant. Fitted 8 of us and loads of baggage very comfortably. They provided a phone to call staff directly. Loved we had loads of dvds and games to play. The perfect secluded getaway. Very remote so will need driver or a car yourself and be confident to drive very winding roads. Beautifully decorated. We had a masseuse from sugar beach come to the house from a number in the guestbook which was amazing. Mary, Greg, Kevin and Wendy were great, and the food they made easily for 8 of us was amazing. We would love to come back and stay again

This place is amazing! The view alone made leaving the villa nearly impossible. The villa was conveniently located to some of the coolest attractions in St. Lucia. Mary, Gregory and Ben's West Coast Jeeps were extremely helpful and welcoming too. Thank you Kermit for sharing your home with us!
