This hidden gem of a casita is a beautiful place to stay in magical Vilcabamba. It's secluded and surrounded by nature in a way that really allows you to take in all the loveliness and ground yourself. It's a bit far from downtown Vilcabamba (about a 15 min taxi ride) but the surroundings makes it worthwhile. There are plenty of hikes to go on and a rushing river to take a dip in - a perfect place to relax. The house itself is perfect for a couple or solo traveler. It has its own bedroom, bathroom and kitchen with a cozy dining area. Everything is well kept, clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Me and my girlfriend booked this place for 3 days, ended up staying 5 :) If that doesn't say enough, we had a very pleasant stay with Kim and his family. They were so friendly and we had very nice conversations. We felt like staying with friends. The casita is very cosy and comfortable and has, contrarary to a lot of South-American airbnb's, a lot of atmosphere. There are a lot of opportunities for great hikes in the area nearby. We were even so lucky to go on a hike with Fabian the gardner :) All in all, we had difficulties to leave. We can recommend this place to everyone!!! Hope to be back someday.

How nice to be able to hear the river in the evenings, be inspired and delighted by the fireflies flitting about at dusk, and to cocoon oneself in the comfy porch hammock rocked by the sultry winds. This rustic casita away from town and near the Podocarpus Reserve is safe, the shower is hot, and the bed with mosquito netting is comfy. Kim Ho is an active listener and attentive to your every need. He brought me a warm woolen blanket upon my arrival when he heard I was at the tail-end of a cold. He was eager to make my stay quite pleasant, brought fresh towels mid-week and was more than willing to call a taxi when I wanted to go into town. A very nice retreat, indeed! Thank you, Kim Ho and family for making me feel so welcomed!

Perfect!! We felt so rejuvenated and happy here at this casita. Kim Ho and his family are lovely, and the casita is just wonderful. It is out of town a bit, so very quiet. We loved all the nighttime sounds of animals before bed! Thank you again. It is a beautiful place!

-- All was perfect except the fact that the Internet got shut down at 10pm, sometimes earlier - which makes it hard to work remotely with people from different countries and time zones. aside from that, this is a perfect place NOT to be right inside Vilcabamba - which guarantees little Ecuadorian experience, being an American-colonized placed where people don't even want to learn Spanish anymore - exactly as described in lilyannfouts PUNTO com BARRA why-i-could-never-live-in-vilcabamba Jajajaja. Kim and his family are very lovely. They created some beautiful casitas on their land from which you can take long walks or run in the mountains and enjoy the refreshing river after which is right next door. we also liked the great tasting bananas. all in all, highly recommendable.

Réponse de Kim Ho :
Thank you, Bryan and María for your beautiful feedback! Regarding the internet, some previous guests have requested to use the internet after 10pm and that was absolutely fine. I didn’t know about your preference to work in the evening. You could have asked; that was no problem at all. Thanks for mentioning.

Hello, I'm Kim Ho. I'm living with Fleur, our four children Uma, Taro, Faye & Mei Li and Ocean (Fleur’s mum) on this amazing, sacred land in Capa Maco, Vilcabamba. We’re so grateful.

On our land we have three houses. We're living in a yellow adobe house and Ocean is living in a cute wooden casita next to us. Casita Colibrí is available for guests.

We're growing our own vegetables, fruits and enjoy plunging into the river. This place is lush and surrounded by mountains and a river.

We want to share this unique land and offer you a safe, tranquil, comfortable and green haven where you can relax and rejuvenate. You'll experience the true abundance of nature.
