The house includes a large kitchen, 2 parlors, and a 3rd floor living room with exciting views. Sleeps 14 in beds. There is also a pull-out sofa that sleeps 2. Many of the house's original charms still remain, which can be found in original woodwork, door knobs, window sash locks, exterior architecture, a bluestone walkway, piano, and the carriage barn. Modern amenities, such as comfortable beds, wifi, cable, national phone, kitchen accessories and brand new linens are also supplied in the house. The house has several decorative themes, including the house's tenants through the ages, attention to detail, and Catskill nature. Stay in the simple, traditionally elegant Buttermilk Room, equipped with a traditional dressing room. The Purple Room, strung with gold curtains, is suitable for a sleeper who revels in richness. The Lavender Room utilizes bright pastels to fill any guest's heart with joy. The large kitchen boasts radiant heat and under-cabinet lighting, with a direct access to the back porch, grill, and bluestone patio. One of the most unusual features of the house is the pass-through cabinet that allows easy carrying of dishes from the kitchen into the dining room. The East Parlor contains a camel-back tufted couch and piano. One can watch birds eat out of the bay window or open and close the original transom window for ventilation or fun. The west parlor, otherwise known as the family room, contains a flat screen television with cable and comfortable furniture. Open what looks like a closet door to slip into the cozy den.
One can view the rushing Esopus Creek and Panther and Garfield Mountains through the southern windows or go for a dip in the creek within a walk's distance. Belleayre mountain is only a 10 minute drive away for those who wish to ski or snowboard, and Hunter Mountain is just a few minutes further. You can walk up the private woods behind the house to see some of the best views of Panther Mountain, one of the most massive mountains in the Catskills. Phoenicia, voted one of the coolest small towns, is only 4 miles away, and Woodstock is only 20 minutes away. Hiking trails scatter the area, and fishing holes are abundant in one of the finest trout fishing areas in the country. The house is easily accessed from Rt 28 and does not require the use of a 4-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive vehicle during the winter months.
