Beautiful penthouse apartment, located in a listed building of 1934. This newly renovated apartment has a very large veranda with clear view to the Acropolis and Lycabettus hill. Excellent access to shops, museums and entertainment.
Welcome to one of the first seven story buildings of Athens. Our building is located in a very central tree-lined street. It was built in 1934 and it is a registered protected landmark.
Crossing the threshold of our building, you will come to a hallway paved in marble, and illuminated by chandeliers. After climbing twelve steps, you will reach a Schindler elevator that will take you to the seventh floor.
Our penthouse apartment is 50m² (538ft²), and has a 25m² (269ft²) veranda with a great view to the Acropolis.
Unlock the (eighty year old) heavy Oak door of our penthouse, you will find yourself in a small entrance hall connected to a room with access to the master bedroom, the living room and the bathroom. The colors throughout the house are warm, subtle and romantic. The floors are original 1930’s (Oak) solid hardwood, and many floors have marquetry designs. There are original paintings hanging on every wall of the house.
The bedroom has a large double bed (160x200 cm), very spacious closets and a large mirror. Inside the closet you will find an ironing board and a steam iron.
The living room is where you will enjoy your lunch, lay out your excursion plans or simply watch tv. It has a large dining table with antique chairs, a 32” Full HD tv (dvd player and satellite tv), a spacious couch that turns into a double bed (140x200 cm), a set of coffee tables, and -most importantly- an excellent view of the Acropolis and the Athenian skyline.
If you wish to enjoy the view in its full glory, go out on the veranda. Right across our building you will see the National Archaeological museum, built in 1829, and its lovely small park filled with various trees and birds (including wild large parrots). Right next to the Museum you can see the historic building of the National Technical University, build in 1836. You cannot miss the Acropolis that is right in front of your eyes, and on your left you will see the famous Lycabettus hill. There is patio furniture available, so you can enjoy your lunch and dinner while admiring this unique view.
Adjoined to the living room you will find the kitchen. It is fully equipped, with a fridge, cooking oven, washing machine, water boiler, a frappe coffee shaker, a full dinnerware set, etc. Our kitchen has an amazing view to the Acropolis as well!
The bathroom is paved with antique (late 1800’s) patterned tiles of the neoclassical style. It has a small bathtub, a toilet, a sink, fresh towels and a hair dryer. The hot water in both, the bathroom and the kitchen, is autonomous and you can turn it on and off whenever you need it from the panel located in the entrance hall.
The temperature in the house is always very pleasant. Besides the fact that the house is very sunny all day long, during the winter there is central heating that keeps the temperature approximately at 22 °C/ 71.6F. The summers in Athens can be very warm, but there is air conditioning that you can set on the temperature of your choice.
This is an ideal apartment for a short or long visit in Athens that will leave you with great memories.
