À propos de ce logement
Make yourself at home with us in this beautiful naturally built home!
The Timberframe offers cooperative living in style. This home is often described by visitors to Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage as the most beautiful in the village.
The Timberframe is actually two adjoining structures, the original Cabin and the Addition, connected by a single shared 15' wide strawbale wall. Both buildings have a matching exposed timberframe structure with insulative strawbales wrapped on their outside. Earthen and lime plasters cover the interior walls, and in them insets, mosaics, and relief sculptures are found throughout the building. Tons of light comes into the building from every axis, and both clerestory and transom windows invite added light into the center of the space. A mix of local hardwoods, hardened earth, and slate tiles line the floors.

A stay at the Timberframe at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage is not your typical experience. Here you'll get to experience sustainable living first hand in a hand-built home with solar power and rainwater catchment. Sun and wood heat the home, and ground contact and natural ventilation cools it. We use composting buckets for our waste. The home was made primarily of materials harvested or reclaimed from within 60 miles of the site, and stands as a symbol of ecological design and construction.
During your stay at the Ecovillage, I'll answer your questions about sustainability and cooperative living, give you a detailed tour of the village, and introduce you to village residents. You can partake of happy hour at the Milkweed Mercantile in the evening, and if you are here on Thursday, I highly recommend that you try their pizza!
Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage is a community demonstrating sustainable living. We live and work here, and try to balance that while living a wholesome and healthy lifestyle. Please do not take photographs of people without their permission, and stay on the main roads in the village unless accompanied by your host.
You will be sharing this home with our family, and we ask you to respect our home and culture. Please do not leave personal items in the common area, and clean up after yourself immediately when using the kitchen.
We ask that you refrain from smoking tobacco on the property and do not bring alcohol into the house. We expect that you keep all illegal substances off our property during your stay.
Given that we have two cats, we ask that additional pets not be allowed.
