Our three-story, two-bedroom comfortable, and renovated medieval home is nestled in this picturesque village in the foothills of Mont. Ste. Victoire immortalized in the paintings of Paul Cezanne.
Our three-story home is located on a side street (a short, cobblestone culdesac called Impasse des Genets) just off of the main (Grande Rue) street that runs through the village. From the street entrance, you step into a modern, open kitchen leading to the dining and living room with an adjacent laundry room with a small half-bath. The living room has a large, comfortable sleeper sofa.
Upstairs on the second floor, you'll find the master bedroom and a full bathroom (Great shower and sink) and separate toilet room. On the third floor is the second bedroom with an armoire closet and dresser. This room leads out onto the small, but lovely roof-top terrace from which you can see the Mont Ste. Victoire range and below, the vineyards. As with so many village homes, the operative word here is “petit" but comfortable. This house will comfortably accommodate two couples or, a family with children would also be perfect for this space.
Accès des voyageurs
You will have access to the entire home including the terrace and use of the kitchen stocked with everything you'll need to enjoy home-cooked meals. Linens and towels are provided. The owner's personal items will be locked safely away in our walk-out storage area off the living room.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
Our caretakers, Eric or Melina, will greet you with the keys and provide an orientation and answer any questions. Eric will also respond to any issues or concerns that may arise during your stay. Upon check-out, our caretakers will confirm the release and return of the security deposit.
Puyloubier is a picturesque Provencal village and has everything you need - a bank machine, post office, grocery store (with all the basics including fresh produce), two boulangerie's (bakeries), two restaurants (one, Les Sarments, a highly-rated “gastronomical experience,” and Café Sainte Victoire, featuring lovely patio dining for lunch and dinner daily in the center of the village square.)
We feel privileged to be able to share this unique home with others when we can't be there. Puyloubier is a small community of just over 1,200 residents most of whom know each other. We expect guests to treat our home and the surrounding community with respect and care. There is absolutely no smoking anywhere on our property (inside or out). Because of serious allergies, no animals are allowed in our home.
My husband and I live and work in Maine and Washington, DC temporarily. I work in the area of policy, development, and philanthropy in early childhood education as well as offer consulting support to nonprofit organizations serving children, youth and families. My husband is a former college president and faculty member. We love Maine, but love Puyloubier, FR just as much.
