15th Century Village house perched on top of a hill with beautiful views.
A south facing terrace looking to the Petit Luberon mountains. A complete renovation provides all modern day comforts and a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy after a day in Provence.
The village of Menerbes (A Year in Provence - Peter Mayle) has mostly local villagers living here. Beautiful walks and cycling are popular pastimes. There are museums, an art gallery & a few shops run by locals. Unspoilt and completely unique.
The house is a typical 15th century village home. There is a cave on the lower ground level, the main living and eating area with the outdoor terrace is on the street/ground level.
First floor has two bedrooms, each with a european queen bed sized 160cm wide x 200cm long. There is an en-suite shower to bedroom1 and a separate bathroom with a shower into a small bathtub for bedroom2. The top floor has a high beamed ceiling and this large room used to be the area that they dyed and dried the silk fabric when the trade was popular in this area. It is now the 'retreat' part of the house for watching TV and lounging around and enjoying not having a schedule.

We have a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge-freezer, dishwasher and gas top with an electric oven cooking range. There is a nespresso coffee machine, toaster, kettle and microwave, plus all your equipment needed for preparing and eating meals. Self catering means guests supply food and sundries as required. Sundries include toilet paper, soap & shampoo, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing/laundry liquid. Please ask if there is anything that might need clarification.
Commonsense rules apply, please treat our house like your own home. We like to think that the people we rent our home to will have similar attitudes to ourselves, respect the neighbourhood and the uniqueness of the village.
We allow children in our home, but PLEASE BE AWARE that there is a terrace which is on the first floor at the back of the house. Also the windows do not all have bars on them and are on the upper levels of the house.
You and your childrens safety IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. Also there are stairs up and down each level of the house.
