I wholly recommend ANYONE single who is looking for accommodation in Toronto to stay at Deb and Francine’s house. At first, I was planning to stay in the basement just for one month. Just two days after I arrived at their home, however, I decided to extend my stay to three months until I left Toronto because I found my stay in their suite so comfortable. I definitely have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my three-month stay in Toronto thanks to their comfortable suite, and most importantly thanks to Deb and Francine!! I wished I could have stayed longer! They are really wonderful, always kind, supportive, and willing to help others. Thanks to them, you will feel as if you are surrounded by warmth even if you live in the apartment alone. It is totally private and at the same time there is a great energy in the house. The balance between privacy and communication with them is fantastic, which is because of their great personalities! They are also foodies and gave me a lot of information about excellent restaurants, shops, and suggestions of what I could do for fun during weekends. Their house is located in a very peaceful, quiet and safe area, and accessible 4-5minutes on foot to Ossington Subway Station and the College street car. From Ossington you can get to the centre of the city, to the Young-Bloor Subway Station in about 7 minutes. And you can get to 3 different bus stops nearby from the house within minutes. In addition, you can access a wide variety of restaurants and shops, markets, groceries, convenience stores, laundromats, an excellent mall and whatever else you need in about 10 minutes. The situation of the house is perfect! The basement suite is the same as what the listing details. The apartment is spacious, beautiful and clean. There is a private bathroom and kitchenette. The kitchenette is fully equipped with a small refrigerator, oven, microwave oven, hot plate, utensils, cooking tools, bowls, etc. You will never feel a lack of equipment. Highly recommended.

Anyone trying to find a better place to stay, just stop right here. The basement suite at Deb and Francine’s house is absolutely spotless, private and quiet. Most basement apartments are either irreparably disgusting or too short for someone my height (I am 6’2”/188cm tall) – this place is neither! It gave me a good 3 inches above my head in most places, and was, as I mentioned, SPOTLESS. I mention this because I am a neat-freak, and this place was fantastic. There is a private washroom (shower stall, sink, toilet) and a small kitchenette. The kitchenette comes with a small countertop convection oven, a microwave oven, a 2-burner hot plate, utensils, cooking tools, a pan, and a few other things like plates, bowl, cups, saucers. It’s fully equipped. Should you find that it isn’t, however, Deb and Francine will furnish whatever you’re missing. It’s a 10-minute walk (if you don’t rush) to Ossington subway station (which is a ~20 minute ride from downtown/Yonge), and like the title says, it’s a few minutes’ walk from all kinds of great restaurants, laundromats, grocery stores, and whatever else you need. On foot, it’s about a 50-minute walk from Yonge street, which passes by quickly if you’re like me and use a mobile device to listen to podcasts and music along the way The street is quiet, lined with gorgeous old trees, and the house itself is just beautiful. Deb and Francine clearly love where they live, and the house they live in. It is immaculate, and truly a beloved home. The best part of all, though, are Deb and Francine. When you go stay somewhere, you really don’t know who you’re going to be living amongst. These people could have been anybody. I got one of the luckiest breaks of my life and met two beautiful people who just make you feel so welcome, unintrusive, and who have such interesting stories to tell! I made friends when I met Deb and Francine. They are truly wonderful human beings."
