The perfect place to be. These are the best 5 words that I can use to describe my stay at Mark’s place! I lived there for almost 4 months due to an internship in DC and the location of the town house - in Dupont Circle - was absolutely perfect, well served and linked to the main areas in DC like for example groceries, metro stations, shops, restaurants and so on. Regarding my bedroom, I stayed in the main one with the private bathroom, first floor: there I had everything that I needed for my privacy, regarding comfort or work when I had to it from home (wifi, writing desk, etc,.). Mark and Dennis, the landlords, are two fabulous people, and also when some problems occurred (as any kind of need could rise on a daily basis) they always showed their comprehension, patience and intention to help or solve the eventual problem. I am truly grateful to them, to my roommates, to Trotsky the marvelous dog and house guard for us, and to the city as a whole for having created such a wonderful chapter of my life.

House is clean and spacious. Kitchen very good for cooking. Bed very comfortable. U Street is very loud with car and bus noise; my room faced the front. I would not suggest this place for noise-sensitive folks -- I was aware of a lot of internal noise (creaky stairs, folks walking overhead) and street noise; I took earplugs and was fine, but it was still a bit louder than the average AirBNB I've stayed at. New place that rents out three rooms on AirBNB, and has a base tenant who also just moved in. Know that you will have other AirBNB'ers, so this feels less like someone's permanent and established home, as it's just getting up and running. The host doesn't really describe this, so I was surprised to find other guests at the house. Note there are no locks on the personal room door--which also felt a bit strange for me given that strangers were also rooming in the house. Also, the room and bathroom (and even house) were missing many of the amenities one might expect from either a hotel (toiletries, blowdryer, etc.) or from a more established home. In short, I think over time it will be more amenable to guests, but it wasn't really fully set up for the first round of guests when I arrived.

Thank you Sharon for being the first guest for this listing and we are sorry that you were inconvenienced by some of the kinks as we are ironing them out. We appreciate your comments so that we may address them. Since your note, we have undertaken the following immediate measures, door-locks have been installed for all rooms; amenities such as hair dryers and irons are available and indications are clearly made that this is a shared house. Of note, all guests are long-term, usually for several weeks to months. We hope to be able to host you again in the future.
