I lived in this apartment for 3 months in the fall of 2016. I should start by saying that, in my opinion, the location is the best in Paris. It is a young, vibrant area, close to absolutely everything. It is super central, but not in the middle of the tourist scene. You live as a local within walking distance from everything touristy.
The apt is small, but big enough for two (short term). I was alone and it was perfect. It has what you need to make a meal or two, but nothing advanced or fancy. The bed looks horrible and is extremely squeaky, but comfortable enough. Just don't expect too much, and the apartment is perfect. hot water, internet ++ in order.
The apt has a window that is positioned out in the courtyard. This means not towards the street. This shields you from the noise of the street and liveliness of the area, which is nice, but it should be mentioned that the courtyard can be lively enough in itself. A lot of windows are positioned towards the courtyard and occasionally people shout and have pre-games ++ which can be disturbing for some.
But the area. It is truly the best. so central. so many restaurants of ridiculously high quality. The shopping is exceptional. The scene is amazing, so close to many of the city's monuments. You can easily walk to republique, Louvre, Bastille, Notre Dame, The eiffel, jardin du Luxembourg, Pantheon ++++. It has several grocery stores nearby, gyms ++ most of what you need.
The hosts are accommodating. They strive to please you as a customer. Yes, my host was 30 minutes late when I arrived, the apartment was dirty when I received it, sometimes it took one or two weeks before I got a response on emails. They apologized when late, they offered to clean it once more when it was dirty, they answered in the end. And they always went to great lengths to please me as a customer, something they accomplished. My relation with the hosts was very good, but as everything in life, it was not without its hiccups. Does it matter? Did it impact my stay? Absolutely not. I would recommend staying in this apartment, with these hosts any day of the week. You are in Paris, enjoy.
