The Old Farm is listed Grade II Georgian farmhouse of special architectural and historic interest, with the outbuildings included for group value. Built 250 years ago, the buildings encircle the original cobbled yard and are now within our totally walled garden. This is a special place. We have lived here for more than 50 years.
The detached Coachhouse was converted about 20 years ago. It is quiet, comfortable, well insulated & equipped, spacious (834 Sq Ft/77 SqM) & in outbuilding for bicycles

Accès des voyageurs

Parking for up to 2 cars in cobbled yard; Feel free to sit in garden or visit interesting local features of historic significance including medieval ridge & furrow fields & remains of medieval deserted villages. The village has a Millennium Green with up-to-date childrens' play area & a hard court for tennis, football or basketball- guests are part of our family membership for use of all facilities.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

We are usually around & will ensure that guests will be able to access our yard and the Coachhouse on arrival; older family members welcome & by arrangement we'll keep an eye open for their needs while more active go off for the day. Sue will show you how to make bread, meringues, use spices & herbs etc in the House kitchen; Tom will show you his gardening techniques in our beautiful garden.
We can make suggestions as to activities if required as we have good local knowledge -plus maps and books which guests can use to help planning their stay here.

Autres remarques

None of the Coachhouse is overlooked from outside ppty. Bed in room downstairs is a small dble bed;
Brick paths for easy walking to Coachhouse & grassed area under apple tree; good outdoor seating; but wear sensible shoes, other garden paths need care; bring Wellies for field paths, Millennium Green, etc.
In Coachhouse, the floors are level with no steps. The downstairs is wheelchair accessible. There are handles for support in the downstairs bathroom but no special lift. The stairs have a child gate at top.

Sue was very helpful on finding us places to go to with some of the interests we had. Sue and Tom made us feel at home. Hungarton Village was so beautiful. Great park for the kids to play at. My family and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. I will let all my friends and family that are travelling to England know about the wonderful experience we had with Sue and Tom.

Our hosts had a snack waiting for us upon our arrival and even had basics in the fridge for us to start our stay in such a lovely place. They were very helpful to point out local areas that interested our family. They were readily available to answer questions. The cottage is situated by the edge of their garden and set back from the street that offers both privacy & safety. Tom & Sue were very inviting and gave us a good overview of the community. They went above and beyond by inviting to whole family to attend a local Harvest Dinner and Auction. They led us to the local children's park and graciously showed us the local footpaths that radiate from the town to the beautiful English countryside. Our family can highly recommend staying in this location!

We enjoyed having you. One correction though, we live in a small village -not town! Not sure what word Americans would use back home to describe this grouping of houses!

We had an excellent stay. The hosts were extremely welcoming, even making sure we had milk, bread and a range of basic food when we arrived late from a Long journey. The cottage proved to be a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area which we very much enjoyed. A big thanks to Sue and Tom and we look forward to being back!

Ihana idyllinen mökki englantilaisella maaseudulla - aivan upea kohde! Omistajapariskunta olivat todella avuliaita ja kohteliaita. Tunsimme olomme heti tervetulleiksi. Suosittelen!

Sue and Tom made us feel very welcome at their lovely cottage. Great welcome pack, which they asked in advance if we had any special requests. The cottage was spotless, well equipped, cosy and in a lovely little village. Despite the cottage sharing its garden with Sue and Toms 16th century house, we were given free reign to wonder around it, and I even got some swiss chard plants from them to take home and plant. They were very generous, cutting us swiss chard leaves for us to cook, giving us free foraged mushrooms and giving my 8 yr old daughter things to cheer her up, unfortunately she was ill for most of the weekend we stayed. That said Sue took her around the garden when she felt better to help her cut some flowers (Note for keen gardeners - Sue knows her plants, including latin names!) Sue provided us with a wealth of info on where to go and what to see, and great directions to the property. Overall a 10/10 experience. We need to go back again with a fully fit kid to explore the area more!
