This is an exceedingly poor AirBnB for the cost, and I would recommend anyone reading this to find another listing in the area. The listing has around 25 photos of the interior house, and only 1 of the bedroom I actually stayed in, which isn't so much of a bedroom as it is ea garage with a wall constructed in the middle of it, with this particular listing being the smaller of the two 'rooms'. There is a twin-sized bed, and there is about 3 feet of clearance from the edge of the bed to each wall. The room is very small, hot (no air circulation), and claustrophobic. Also, there are no windows so no outside light gets in, so keep that in mind. There were issues with lots of ants on the floor of the room as well, and I saw some in the bathroom areas as well. Speaking of the bathrooms, there are 2 bathrooms (1 hallway and 1 master) shared between 16 people. Yes, 16 people, in an average sized home. The listing I booked was for one of the only private rooms, but there are 12 bunk beds shoved into 2 rooms that are rented out. This listing is essentially a glorified hostel, with none of the regulations hostels are normally bound by. As my room is part of a garage, it is accessible, unlocked, to the outside 24/7. I asked for a key from the host, and she suggested I purchase my own deadbolt and replace the lock for the duration of my stay. This was the straw that broke the camel's back, and AirBnB said that I could end my stay early as this was in violation of their policy. Speaking of communication with the host, this was the only interaction I had with her for the week I stayed in the house. When I arrived, the front door was unlocked (as it always is, every hour of every day), and a piece of paper with my name was pinned to a board next to the door with a bed number (out of 16) written on it. I could go on, but suffice to say this was a truly terrible stay at an overpriced and subpar listing, and I heavily encourage anyone considering booking this listing to consider other options. As an aside, I spoke with AirBnB about my stay at this listing, and the support I received was nothing short of fantastic. I'm very impressed with AirBnB as a company and with their handling of the situation.

You better expect the reversed version of the description. Elena is unfriendly and irresponsible for her place and visitors. She has not explained any details to me for the stay. Moreover, one of the worst things here was insecurity of the place. Everyone can get in without keys, so I was worried because I had important stuff like a laptop that I want to secure in my room. My private room had a lock, but when I "encountered" her she said "I don't have the keys.. No one steals here... but in the case your stuff is stolen I cannot be responsible for that..." Just WOW. The next worst thing is Dirtyness. She has not apparently cleaned up my room, so everywhere was covered by dust. If you touch any parts of the room, your fingers get nicely gray. I have dust allergy, so I had to clean and wipe my room by myself. I have never seen such an irresponsible and insincere host in Airbnb. I never ever recommend anyone thinking to stay in Palo Alto. She is a Zero-Star host.
