Upon our arrival to Heavenly Suites, my friend and I were greeted by Lawrence's warm and welcoming smile. Shortly after we exchanged pleasantries, and he then helped us to carry luggage into the home.
Entering the walk way to the home, the first thing you will notice is the amazing and beautiful scenery. Upon entrance to the residence itself, you will be taken back by a beautiful yet contemporary Caribbean style decor. We felt like celebrities staying here.
The house is absolutely gorgeous, spacious, and just all around wonderful. Although there is air conditioning, the high ceilings and strong breeze that circulates through the home easily allows you to spend your time here without using ac. I get really bad dry coughs when I use ac, so I spent 85% of my time in the home without it.
This residence is certainly the most beautiful place that I have stayed in St. Lucia so far. It is also safe, and very private. By no means will you be troubled by others from the compound or neighbourhood.
The house is located in Monchy, and it is literally a 6-10 minute drive to Rodney Bay. The local bus stop is a short 5 minute walk down the road. The buses do not run frequently, and bus traffic is highest during the mornings and the evenings, so be mindful if you plan on utilizing public transportation.
To get to Rodney Bay using the local bus, you will have to take the Monchy bus going towards town, stop at the Monchy Gap, cross the street to catch the Gros Islet bus, and five minutes later you will be at Rodney bay. The total time would be approximately 20 minutes.
If you do decide to use public transportation and take the walk down the hill, be mindful that there are three dogs that tend to bark at strangers. My friend and I are terrified of dogs, so this was not at all a pleasant experience. We frequented taxis because of this. The taxi price from Rodney Bay to Heavenly Suites is 30EC ($14 Canadian or $11 USD). The price from Castries to Heavenly Suites if $50EC ( $24 Canadian or $19 USD)
One more thing, the pool shown in the photo is a shared pool. It's not private as displayed in the photo, so don't get your hopes up to go skinny dipping or sunbathing in private.
All in all staying here was very pleasant, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting St. Lucia. Thank you very much for your kindness Lawrence.
