We spent a lovely week at Ivaana in June 2014 & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Nenad was very warm and friendly and helpful - he lives behind the apartment.
It was very easy from London, on Ryanair from Stanstead to Zadar. From Zadar airport there are plenty of taxis to Zadar Ferry Port - price 190 Kunas (roughly £19) each way. Or plenty of mini buses for 5 euros, though you have to wait for a few others to join you. Taxis and minibuses can be booked online if you search around (Taxi - (URL HIDDEN) The Jadrolinija ferry runs from Zadar to Preko on Ugljan all day long (URL HIDDEN) The taxi / minibus will drop you at the ferry port and you buy your tickets at a little kiosk next to the port. It's 18 Kunas (£1.80) each way. Nenad was happy to collect us from Preko and take us to the apartment, so ask him - I believe he is happy to do that for anyone.
The apartment was lovely, with a 60s feel, very quiet with all amenities, CD player with MP3 connector. No Wifi, but good mobile reception, so you can get online on your phone if you need to. Big east facing balcony looking over the bay. The apartment is located in a little bay called Gnojisca, which is just round the headland (Zaglav) from Kukljica. There are several holiday homes along the waterfront, but not too crowded, so it's quiet - away from the main strip at Kukljica. The sea in front of the house is lovely for swimming, the water is calm and fairly clear, no current, with a diving platform at one end, and it is as safe as you could get for 6 or 7 year olds upwards. Take water shoes for ease as it is stony and there are a few sea urchins around.
It's a 5 minute walk from the apartment to Kukljica waterfront / marina which has plenty of charm. There's two very well stocked mini-supermarkets with everything you could want, and a third small one. Along the seafront there are about 10 restaurants, with outdoor seating. Most are pizzerias, so the options were a little limited. We ate in the Stari Mlan, which did tasty fish meals. There is an excellent ice cream palour where you can get a delicious ice cream for the equivalent of 60p!
Every morning we walked from the apartment up through Kukljica and over the hill to the beaches on the other side of the island (30 min walk), wild, surrounded only by trees. We swam at Jelenica, a nudist beach which we had to ourselves most mornings. Ugljan island looks beautiful if you want to explore it. There is a reliable bus service.
The weather was the only slight disappointment, the week before was 34 Celcius, our week between 23-28, with a few showers, aparently the worst June locals could remember!
