Description
Description

The cute studio apartment for two is in a beautiful Dalmatian villa called “The White House”. The villa is located in Sukošan, 7 km from Zadar, in a quiet area near the beach. Relax sitting on the spacious covered terrace surrounded by greens and enjoy the barbecue. Explore the wider area that offers great holiday activities from May to October.

The apartment is on the ground floor of “The White House”. It is suitable for 2 persons. Carefully renovated in typical Dalmatian style with the walls made out of stone, it has a colourful bedroom, an open plan kitchen and a modern bathroom. You will love to have your meals outside on the spacious terrace or in the big shady garden.

This apartment is available as a separate unit only in May and September. During the other periods it is being rent exclusively as part of the entire holiday house, “The White House” (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12105064). If you rent “The White House” you will have full privacy. Nobody else will be there.

In May and September the weather is nice, the sea is warm and there is a lot to discover in the surroundings: the medieval city of Nin, the Vranje lake, the Dalmatian cities: Šibenik with its beautiful historic centre and its fortresses, Split with the antic Diocletian Palace. Three national parks are nearby: the river of Krka, Paklenica and Kornati (for details see below “Getting around”).

The apartment is easily reachable by plane (5 km to Zadar airport) and by car (direct junction to the motorway Zagreb - Split). One parking lot is at your disposal.

The apartment is at your exclusive disposal while the garden and barbecue is shared with guests from the first floor apartment.

Martin will welcome you and show you everything you need to know. He is always at disposal if you need help or if you have questions. Please inform him at least three hours before your expected arrival.

Sukošan, a charming little town (ca. 3000 inhabitants, 7 km from Zadar), provides everything you need. There is a wide range of restaurants serving international and traditional Dalmatian food. You can choose among different beaches (see the pictures). The nearest one with gravels is 300 m from the house. Next to it there is a beautiful designed beach with bars, restaurants and a guarded children playground. The “Punta Beach" offers bars and beach activities such as diving and beach volleyball. The largest marina at the Adriatic, 300 m from the villa, offers nightlife and various summer events.

Zadar, the European top destination 2016, is reachable in 15 minutes by car. With its 3000 years of history the city has a lot to offer: walk on the old Roman forum, visit the medieval churches and museums (first to mention the spectacular Permanent Exhibition of Religious Art) or listen to the world famous Sea organ. The sunset of Zadar is breathtaking.

The Zadar region is one of the most beautiful areas in Croatia offering much more than beach and sun. With 1 hour driving only you can visit three national parks: National Park Krka with its beautiful waterfalls, National Park Paklenica in the Velebit mountain, Croatia's most important climbing centre, and National Park Kornati, a true sailing paradise.

Zadar (7 km, 15 min by car)

During summer there are many festivals and other events: The Musical Evenings in St. Donat (classical music, July, August), KalelargArt street art festival (end of July) and Zadar snova (international festival of contemporary theatre, first two weeks of August). Special domestic flair gives the Noć punog miseca (Night of the Full Moon, traditional festival of food and folk heritage, end of July). The Millennium Jump, the simultaneous jump of over 3000 people from the riva into the sea is (end of July) real fun to participate or just to watch.

Nin (30 km, 30 min)

Nin, the seat of the Croatian medieval kings, has rich cultural treasure (the smallest cathedral in the world), unspoiled nature, as well as really beautiful surroundings. The sandy beach is particularly suitable for small kids.

Vransko jezero (28 km, 30 min)

The Vranje lake is the largest natural lake in Croatia and a paradise for birds. There is a network of 50 km bicycle roads around the sea. From viewpoint “Kamenjak” you have a wonderful view over the lake, the coast and the archipelago. The information centre gives an interesting overview of the area. There is also a little restaurant which offers domestic food and drinks.

Biograd (20 km, 25 min)

Biograd is a cosy little town at the coast next to the Vranje lake. The nice riva invites to having coffee, lunch or dinner. There are also beautiful beaches.

National Park Paklenica (60 km, 60 min)

The National Park is the largest and best preserved forest complex in Dalmatia and Croatia's most important climbing centre.

Skradin (70 km, 45 min)

Skradin is a romantic Mediterranean town at the entrance of the National Park Krka, with protected cultural monuments dating from the 18th and 19th century.

National Park Krka

With its seven waterfalls the Krka river is a natural phenomenon worth to visit. The most beautiful waterfalls are “Skradinski buk” and “Roški slap”.

National Park Kornati

From Zadar or from Biograd you can book day excursions by boat to the National Park. The park is a true swimming, snorkeling and sailing paradise consisting of 90 little islands.

River Zrmanja (55 km, 45 min)

Zrmanja is one of the most beautiful rivers in Croatia. In the canyon you can do rafting (organised day trips). There is a nice place to rest at Berberov buk with a little restaurant and children playground.

Šibenik (80 km, 60 min)

Visit the charming city with its beautiful historic centre and its two fortresses. The Cathedral of St. James is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Split (160 km, 90 min)

The second largest Croatian city with its lively riva and its ancient monuments is a great place to see Dalmatian life as it’s really lived. There are festivals and events all over the year.

Native German I came to Croatia 20 years ago for work as a diplomat in international organisations (EU, OSCE) and have never left it since :-)
I love this part of Dalmatia because of its unique combination of the sea and the mountains. My wife Ines and me enjoy going on sailing and hiking trips.
