It doesn't get much better than this, if a downtown St. John's experience is what you're after. Come stay in this historic home with breathtaking views, on one of the most famous blocks in the city, currently featured in NL's tourism commercials.
This space hits all the right notes, here are the top 3:
1) Great location - steps from the LSPU Hall where the best local theatre happens, plus just a block up from 1 of 2 main streets that are the heartbeat of the downtown, Duckworth Street. Both a quiet neighbourhood but perfectly close to all the action, an incredible mix.
2) Beautiful heritage home - this house, built around 1895, features interesting historic architecture both inside and out. A white-painted chimney and fireplaces run throughout the home (though the fireplaces aren't in use anymore), plus natural wood walls in most rooms, giving this heritage home a cozy, nostalgic feel that is part of an authentic downtown experience.
3) Stunning views - there is something beautiful to see out of every window in this home. Out the back, you get to take in the harbour, featuring the famous Narrows, and equally famous Signal Hill, and out the front, you are literally looking at the row of houses featured in our province's recent tourism commercial (Search "Jellybean Row, NL - YouTube").

I live just a couple of blocks away and will be available throughout your stay if you need anything from restaurant recommendations to having babysitters arranged.
FOOD: The kitchen will be stocked with grocery essentials like tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, ketchup, mustard, relish, margarine, PLUS a few extras for breakfast on your first few mornings like eggs, a loaf of bread, and pancake mix. :)
BABY GEAR: If you are travelling with babies or toddlers, let me know! I can provide travel cribs, high chairs, and strollers. And maybe a few other extras if you need them.
I want you to enjoy this home as your own, but please keep these things in mind:
-No pets allowed.
-Smoking is not permitted indoors, but there are butt cans provided outside each door.
-Please remove your outdoor shoes when you come inside.
-No loud noise after 11pm please, as per city by-laws, and no parties.
-If you wash any white towels or sheets (though not necessary), please only wash them alone or with other white items, not with any coloured items, and please remove any stains before washing. A fee will be charged for any discoloured or stained towels or sheets that need to be replaced.
-You can chose to leave your dirty dishes/pots for a fee of $25 that will be charged after you check out, or to avoid the fee, all dishes, cutlery, pots and pans must be thoroughly cleaned. Leaving them to dry is ok, but please leave them as clean as you would like to find them. Many times dishes are left grimy or greasy, even though they are put away, and require re-washing. If this is the case, the fee will still be charged, so that no one arrives to not-so-clean dishes. ;)

My passion for hosting started in May, 2015 when I welcomed my first Airbnb guests into my home. Little did I know then, it would become something I enjoyed so much that I would make it my full-time career. Eight months later, I left my job in marketing & communications and started hosting a variety of homes for friends on vacation and various homeowners that had approached me about Airbnb.
Today this has grown into my company, FabStay Accommodations, where together with the amazing support of my team of hosts, cleaners, and a dedicated booking manager, we welcome hundreds of Airbnb guests to our beautiful province of Newfoundland.
I was born and raised right here in our capital city of St. John's, and one of my favourite things about meeting so many captivating people from all over the world is seeing my home through their eyes - a fresh perspective on how truly lucky I am to call this place home! With two small children to take on new adventures here, I love learning how other people explore and enjoy this gem of an island.
In November, 2016, I attended the Airbnb Open in LA and fell in love even more with what Airbnb has built - the sense of global community, the notion of belonging anywhere you go, and the thousands of lifelong friendships being made along the way. I have met some incredible people through Airbnb since 2015, and I can genuinely tell you I am so excited for all the people I have yet to meet! Come stay with us, we'd love to welcome you here! :)
