At my home, A 'Peace' of Heaven, I want every guest to feel like they are at home. You will find every luxury of your own house here at my cabin - a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry set up with complimentary detergent and supplies, a master bedroom, bathroom, and guest room on the main floor; in addition to a loft (with pull out sofa) and large bedroom on the top floor, complete with plenty of plush blankets and pillows for cold nights! My home sleeps 11 comfortably in beds, with room for any air mattresses you may require.

I want to make sure that here in my home you have every amenity and luxury that you have in your own home. Between the beautiful kitchen and gorgeous stone fireplace, you will find a large dining table that can seat up to 8 guests. In the kitchen you will find endless supplies for cooking wonderful home cooked meals for your friends and family. All throughout the house there are plenty of books if you like to just sit outside and read while soaking up some sun and checking out the one of a kind view.

The main floor boasts an incredible view of Grandfather Mountain - with windows from the floor all the way to the rooftop, you will find yourself staring at the awe of mother nature - whether it be from a comfortable recliner in the living room or a rocking chair on the wrap around deck. The outside area is fully furnished, and the wrap around deck is an incredible place to just sit back and take uin the view. With rocking chairs, tables, and dining areas, you may find yourself spending more time outside than inside on your vacation!

The loft is a great area for kids, with its pull out sleeper sofa and plush pillows. There is also a chest full of games in the loft! Its got all the classics like Candyland, Monopoly, and Trivial Pursuit, and will keep you and your family entertained for hours! The bedroom beside the loft features a bunk bed with a full size bed on bottom and a twin size bed on top. Beside the bunk beds there is a huge, queen sized bed with a wonderful pillow top mattress cover. Also in this room, a window-nook overlooking the outdoor dining area - perfect for gazing at the view from the top floor!

The master bedroom downstairs features another queen sized bed as well as its own flatscreen TV. The guest room beside it features two twin sized beds - these two bedrooms are connected by the master bathroom, an incredible stone tiled walk in shower/tub decorates this bathroom.

Here at A 'Peace' of Heaven, relaxation is the vibe, and you will most definitely leave here feeling more centered and rested. I would encourage all my guests to check out all that the local area has to offer. There are endless activities and I will happily recommend activities for you and your friends and family, just contact me!


*Check in at no earlier than 4PM on the date of check in and check out is no later than 11:00AM on the day of check out. These times are flexible with approval from the owner.*

*Please note - the owner resides on the basement level of the rental house in a separate Owner's Apartment. It is not necessary to meet the owner to gain access to the rental, there is a key lockbox beside the front door on the ground level (code will be provided before check in). Contact with the owner is minimum to nil, as the owner works full time and has a private entrance to the Owner's Apartment. The owner respects the privacy of all guests and will not enter the rental portion of the premises during any guest's stay unless absolutely necessary.*

*The owner requests that loud music be turned off after 11:00 PM.*

*Please note that the left most parking spot is designated for the owner, and the availability of that designated spot must remain open at all times and a car must be able to enter and exit that leftmost parking spot at all times.*

*Cleaning Fee: $125 - Includes professional grade pre-check-in cleaning to ensure top to bottom aesthetic perfection in our cabin. Also includes all fresh linens, towels, two Tide laundry detergent pods, dish soap, two large paper towel rolls, and two hotel-quality toilet paper rolls per bathroom.*

**For parties of two who do no wish to use the top floor and only wish to use the main floor, the cleaning fee can be discounted, by request.**

**5% discount for military, teachers, police, firefighters**

Guests are limited to the top two floors during their stay. The the two floors are accessible via the front door located directly in front of the parking area. The keys are located in a lock box to the right of the front door. The code is provided prior to check in. Please remember, guest activity is permitted anywhere on the property except the basement level of the house and the lower level of the deck/porch.

Most of the time guests do not interact with the owner, as the owner lives in a separate apartment on the basement level. The owner will not enter the rental portion of the house during a guest's stay unless absolutely necessary; guests' privacy is of utmost important to the owner.

Complete Solitude with a Pristine View of Grandfather Mountain! The closest neighbor is far out of both viewing and hearing distance. The cabin is surrounded by a beautiful, lush forest, with the most commonly seen residents being the local wildlife.

We are located within five miles to Hound Ears Golf Club, Hawks Nest Ski Resort, Mast General Store, The Watagua River, the trailhead for Grandfather Mountain Profile Trail, Hebron Rock Colony, Boone Beach, and much more.

We are located within fifteen miles to downtown Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain National Park and Zoo, the Mile High Bridge, downtown Banner Elk, Appalachian Ski Resort, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Beach Mountain Ski Resort, Boone Country Club, Appalachian State University and downtown Boone, Lees McCray College, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock State Park, and so much more!

Guests are provided with a Guest Welcome Guide upon confirmation of their reservation. This guide contains suggestions for all sorts of local attractions, from restaurants, shopping, and wine tasting, to hiking spots, tourist hotspots, and local secret spots that most tourists don't know about! It also provides detailed explanations of our amenities, policies, and other very useful information.

Be prepared for windy mountain roads and steep inclines. Four wheel drive is highly recommended during the winter. The house is accessible during inclement weather with four wheel drive, as the roads and driveway are kept plowed. Otherwise, most if not all vehicles can access the cabin during the rest of the year.

There is no public transportation service in operation in our town.

Private transportation services are available in the area either upon request to the owner or by searching for one on your own.

Observance of the house rules is required at all times while on the property.

Dogs are permitted for an additional fee of $25 per dog, so long as they are up to date on anti flea and tick medication. We do not allow cats, as we have a house cat (named Dinky) that loves every person and every dog, but does not like cats. Dinky can be seen roaming around the property, feel free to pet him, but do not pick him up as we are not responsible for injuries incurred by disturbing the house cat (even though we have never, ever had an issue with this). We also do not allow any other types of pets. While away from the cabin, all pets must be crated.

Quiet times must be observed between the hours of 11PM and 7AM. Please, no loud music, yelling, excessively high volume on the TV or stereo, or otherwise loud noises between these hours as to not disturb the owner.

Smoking is not allowed in any form inside the house. We do allow for cigarette smoking in the driveway, 10 feet or more from the house, so long as butts are disposed off property in the outside trash receptacle after being put out completely.

The Owner’s Apartment and porch located outside the Apartment (on the basement level of the cabin) are off limits to guests. We kindly ask that guests respect the owner’s privacy while staying at the cabin. If for any reason you need to contact the owner, please use the contact information provided in this guide. The owner will return this kindness in full, ensuring that your privacy is protected by not entering the guest portion of the cabin at any time during your stay.

Guests under the age of 21 are entirely welcome, but must be accompanied by parents or guardians while at the cabin. The cabin is not suitable for infants or toddlers, so it is important to keep a close watch on any little guests during your vacation.

Parties are strictly prohibited. Guests of guests are welcome, but must depart the cabin during quiet hours (11pm-7am). Anyone not included in the guest list provided to us at the time of your reservation being made are not allowed to stay overnight at the cabin. If you would like to add someone to your guest list, please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate you. There is a maximum occupancy of twelve people at the cabin.

Please do not leave food out for any unwelcome pests, our cabin is pest free and we’d like to keep it that way!

Whilst we do a thorough professional clean between each guests' stay, we kindly ask that prior to leaving, you clean and put away any dishes or kitchenware used and put any dirty towels in the hamper. We also ask that you strip all linens off of any beds that were slept on. It helps us get through our cleaning process quicker and allows us to keep cleaning costs down for you and future guests.

My name is Michael, and I manage this property for my mother, Barbara, who resides at the cabin. She works full time (too much if you ask me) at a local veterinary clinic taking care of our towns cats and dogs. I like to think of our arrangement as a sort of "family business", as in I help my mom manage her listing here on Airbnb, communicate with our lovely guests, coordinate dates and times with our housekeepers and maintenance crews, and try to keep everyone happy and everything running smoothly; while she gets to spend her free time relaxing and not having to worry about the duties of hosting a short term rental. I'd do anything in the world to help my mother make her life easier, as she has always done the same for me - this is the least I can do for her.

To further prove that we run a "family business", our dear cousin Jessica is in charge of our housekeeper crew, and she keeps the cabin in top notch condition, leaving not even a speck of dirt behind before a guest checks in. She has been in the housekeeping business for just over fifteen years now and runs her own local house cleaning company as well.

We, as a team, will do anything we can to accommodate our guests and make sure their stay is comfortable, relaxing, and unique.
