À propos de ce logement

For the summer we offer overnight at Sawmill Bay, 10 miles by water from Valdez. We will leave Valdez in the evening, have breakfast at anchor and return to Valdez in the morning. The anchorage is pictured here. We have 3 double cabins available. In the winter months we offer bunk and breakfast at the dock.

Vince and Jenny were terrific hosts! Valdez is in a beautiful location, and felt like the most authentic part of our Alaska trip (which included Denali / Talkeetna, Seward, and Anchorage) in part because it blends tourism and industry. The boat is located right near the parking lot. And because my daughter and I stayed for 2 nights, Vince drove the boat to a secluded bay 11 miles away during the second night, allowing us to see breathtaking scenery along the way. Boat-living always makes for tight sleeping quarters, but Aurelia is a comparatively large 80-foot boat. The shower worked fine, and I didn't have to crouch too much despite being 6'4". Vince makes great cheese omelets for breakfast. I'd definitely recommend staying at his Airbnb-on-a-boat.

This is an incredible experience with such caring and attentive hosts. It was a real treat staying aboard the Aurelia, mooring in the beautiful and secluded bay and spending the morning kayaking - so much fun. One of a kind experience not to be missed.

This was a one of a kind unique experience. Vince was a great host and makes a wonderful breakfast. Recommend to all adventurous travelers in the Valdez area. We did not go out on the boat as we were there in the winter, however, had a great time nonetheless.

We had a great stay on the Aurelia! It's a beautiful boat, roomier than expected, and clean! The guest room itself has more than enough space for two people, and a very comfortable bed. We only stayed for one night, so we did not use the shower, but I feel it's worth noting that it is huge, definitely not what I expected for a sailboat. Vince is a great host, he really went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, in my opinion. The weather called for a strong windstorm on the day/night we were supposed to head out, and rather than assuming we wouldn't mind, Vince kept in touch with updates about the weather and allowed us to reschedule for Saturday. It was still a bit windy, but we didn't mind. The boat did rock a bit, but we could barely tell unless we watched through a window. The morning after was my favorite part of the whole stay. Vince made a delicious breakfast, with french press coffee and the best ginger scones (compliments to the chef, Mrs Jenny, whom we were unable to meet, but look forward to doing so next time) we've ever had. He is a pleasure to talk to, full of information about the area and fun stories. We look forward to staying on the Aurelia again in the future, hopefully when it is warmer, and we can actually leave the harbor!

We had a wonderful trip to Valdez and greatly enjoyed our stay aboard the Aurelia. It is a beautiful boat and Vince was a great host. He always had interesting stories to share and is very knowledgable of the local area. The cabins aboard were more roomy than we expected and the bathroom was more than sufficient with a surprisingly large shower considering that it is on a boat. The breakfasts were delicious and homemade every morning. The french press coffee was excellent as well. We would definitely recommend this as a lovely place to stay.

Vince &Jenny are so nice! It's really an unforgettable experience that you should try. Sunset & rainbow on the way sailing to the sawmill bay is amazing. Water falls from Glacier running down crossed fog from the mountain to the ocean. We sleep very well with the clean quilt &sheet. We do regret that we can't stay for another day with “ Aurelia'. Jenny's ginger scones & Vince 's bacon , egg rolls are so delicious! Highly recommended!

My stay on the Aurelia was the best Air B&B experience I've had! Vince and Jennie were excellent hosts. We left the harbor around 5:30/6pm and made it out to Sawmill Bay by 8:30 that eve. Along the way, I was able to take lots of pics, videos, and see wildlife and amazing views of the Prince William Sound. As locals to Valdez, my hosts were great at explaining and pointing out landmarks and historical pieces of information. I went ahead and paid extra to add a kayak experience as part of the trip. The morning after we stayed in the Bay, Jennie made ginger scones while Vince cooked up bacon and a yummy cheese omelet. French Press coffee topped off the morning before going out into the Bay for a 2ish hour kayak adventure. We saw a bear, harbor seals, birds, and did a quick beach walk. What a great addition to the B&B experience! I will absolutely be back with family and friends. I highly recommend using this as a way to see and experience Valdez. Money well spent!
