Upon arrival to Janeth's townhouse, Janeth greeted us the door. She offered us some water since it was pretty hot outside. She was really nice and welcoming. She then informed us that we were not going to stay at the townhouse after all, but a 1BR apartment down the street. When we arrived, the complex was secured at front entrance, which was nice to have. We got off the elevator, and the hallway reaked of smoke. We opened the door of the apartment, there was no furniture. Only an air mattress in the bedroom, no linens. The cigarettes smoke was getting in the apartment through the air vents, so the apartment also reaked of smoke. The apartment also looked like it had not been cleaned. We did not feel comfortable staying there even for 1 night. On top of that, Janeth would not give us the code to get in the complex ad lib until our payment was complete. We left to run errands shortly after getting the key, so we were unable to get back in the building. Keep in mind, we had pre-paid earlier in the week, had our confirmation on the booking, and a screen shot of our payment method deducted for this booking. She sent the code close to 11pm-midnight. Too late, in my opinion, to be able to reap the benefits of this particular stay. Luckily, my apartment was an hour away, so we ended up staying the night at my apartment. The key was, of course, returned that next morning. Long story short, the property was not what we were expecting, not clean, smelled like cigarette smoke, and we were unable to enter the building when needed. We will not be staying at Janeth's property again. This was not what we expected for our first Air B&B experience.
