I transplanted to Grand Junction, Colorado from Boston, Massachusetts in 1997 and consider myself to be home.
Though I still love the hustle of city life, the serenity of nature is now my most sought after drug. Nearly every day I am struck by the beauty of the valley in which I live--I'm so blessed! Grand Junction's central location to world class biking, hiking, rafting, skiing and National Parks--along with the abundance of sunshine, has kept me entertained and entranced for the last 17 years.
Grand Junction has grown-up since I arrived and now includes amazing dining (Bin 707, 606 Rood, Il Bistro and Moulin Rouge to name a few), over a dozen wineries (Two Rivers Riesling and Grande River Vineyards Merlot are always appropriate gifts for me) and an art culture who's presences is inescapable (The Raw Canvas, The Oakley Gallery, The Art Center and The Blue Pig are not to be missed).
I love to play in nature with my kids, bike along the river trail and get my hands dirty in my yard. Live music can drag me out--even in bad weather, on a Sunday! I love to dance, enjoy great food and drink with interesting people and stay in my PJ's until noon on Sundays--that is, if I'm not programming The Global Groove (world music) show on KAFM Community Radio.
As your host, I intend to share my love of the area, my passion for the GJ life style and my organizing skills to make you feel right at home.
