HEAT

LAUNDRY
Guests have free access to the building's coin-operated laundry room, and we have laundry detergent you may use if you'd like. I also have a full-size ironing board as well as an iron for your use.

Our goal is to ensure you have the most enjoyable and comfortable stay in Chicago. We're more than happy to offer suggestions before or during your trip to help you maximize your time in the city. Depending on our work travel schedule, we may or may not be in town; however, we're always accessible via phone or email for any questions that arise.

This high-rise building is right on the water with easy access to Belmont Harbor, the lakefront trail & parks for running/biking, tennis courts, and Diversey Driving Range. Restaurants of all cuisines, lively bars, and unique stores abound in the Lakeview and Lincoln Park neighborhoods.

PARKING:
-- There is ample parking on the streets surrounding the building - some spots are metered ($2/hr from 8am-10pm, free overnight), while others are free. While never guaranteed, if you're willing to circle the block a few times, you can almost always find free options! I have a map I provide to help you find good free parking streets.
- The most affordable garage is at 3440 N Lake Shore Dr and costs 0-1 hr/$7, 1-2 hrs/$10, 2-4hrs/$15, 4-12hrs/$21, 12-24hrs/$28. They are cash only.
- You can also check Spot-Hero for nearby options that will work for you. Some allow mobile passes, while others are print-outs. Some have in/out privileges.
Public transportation is an easy and convenient way to get around the city. It's about a 7 min walk to the Addison stop on the red line. In addition, there are multiple bus options, including 2 express lines that will get you to River North in 10 minutes and the Loop in 15 minutes. I am happy to provide additional detail about our public transit system, as well as directions.

The bus is $2/person, while the train is $2.25/person; there are also unlimited 3-day passes for $21 and 7-day passes for $28.

REQUESTS:
1) Please treat the apartment as you would your own home.
2) Please do *not* mention airbnb during your stay. "Home sharing" in in the hot seat right now in Chicago, and while most people are fond on the site, there are some who are wary of it or dislike it. Therefore, we prefer to say guests are friends of ours visiting and instead of mentioning airbnb. It's unlikely someone would ask you, but in case they do, we request you say the same.

CHECK IN/OUT: Standard check-in time is 3pm (or later) and check-out time is by noon. If scheduling permits, we will work with you on alternate arrangements, so please inquire. For check out, I ask that you turn off lights/TV/AC and wash used kitchen items. Kindly bag any trash in the kitchen area. Linens may be left as is. Keys can be left inside the apartment with door closed/unlocked.

I'm a frequent traveler for work and pleasure and try to fully take advantage of each destination. I began using Airbnb as a traveler in the fall of 2013, and I'm hooked! Staying in someone's home allows you to experience the area in a truly authentic way - no more hotels for me! As of May 2014, I've begun hosting in Chicago and absolutely love helping others make the most of their visits.

I enjoy everything from museums to hiking and bars to libraries. Recent favorite trips include Denver, CO; Sante Fe, NM; and Memphis, TN. Last international trip was to Costa Rica and hoping to make it to South America very soon.

I consider myself to be pretty detail-oriented, organized, and responsible. You can fully trust me to take your space as if it were my own.

Just came across this Tommy Bahama slogan and thinking I'll adopt it as my life motto: "Make life one long weekend."
