À propos de ce logement

Hosting guests since 1987 in unique, 10-bedroom Inn (once a barn!) Homemade breads, muffins, fruit cobbler, coffee & juice for breakfast. Near Wintergreen ski & golf, Blue Ridge mountains, dining, brewpubs, wineries, nature, great cycling & hiking!

Le logement

Bedrooms listed (10 in all) are in what we call The Inn---a renovated horse barn, still sporting stall doors! Each room has one double bed, desk, wardrobe, side table and big window. The Inn has two kitchenettes, two common areas, a wrap-around deck, a patio, and several shared Men's and Ladies bathrooms (6 toilets, 4 showers).
The Inn is separate from our home, which is the office where guests check in. We live on 34 acres, with views of meadows and the Blue Ridge Mountains, in beautiful Nelson County Virginia.

Accès des voyageurs

The Inn's two kitchenettes include microwave ovens and refrigerators. We also provide an outdoor grill---But due to health dept regulations, no conventional stove or oven is at the Inn.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

One of us is almost always here to greet you and settle you in when you arrive. And if for some reason we can't coordinate this, we'll write you a note. (So be sure to keep us posted on your eta!) Continental breakfast each morning gives us a chance to chat and touch-base. We love meeting and swapping stories with our fascinating visitors!

Autres remarques

Our premises are ideal for retreats, small weddings, reunions of all sorts, and groups of friends---OR just perfect as a get-away for an individual traveler. According to cyclists (from near and far), the Inn is especially suited for those who love tackling mountains and back-road adventures on 2-wheels!

We enjoyed our stay at the Acorn Inn. The location is secluded but very close to some breweries (Devil's Backbone, Wild Wolfe, etc). We had some delicious bakery items for breakfast as well as coffee/tea/juice. Definitely a place where we will return in the future.

It is not your usual b&b, but it what makes your trips a wonderful experience and great memories. Kathy and Martin are very interesting people with loads of various talents. Have a cup of coffee with Kathy's baking goodies in the morning and relax on outdoor porch chatting with Martin or just listening to birds chirping. We only spent one night there, and it was last minute booking, but Kathy and Martin kept in touch and waited for us to arrive very late night. It was a wonderful stay!

Thanks, Sveta! As I mentioned, we also enjoyed meeting you guys. Good luck with the rest of your trip. We hope you found "Sandbridge" in your trip to Virginia Beach. We always prefer quieter, natural areas. And this warm weekend, a dip in the ocean sounded like a great idea! And thanks for your appreciation of my art. All the best, Kathy

I stayed here the night before running a trail race along the Blue Ridge Parkway. This was a great place to crash and get ready for the race. Kathy & Martin had coffee ready to go and great baked goods waiting for me at 5 am. They were very welcoming for my brief stay.

Staying at The Inn was great. Martin and Kathy were very easy to communicate with and made us feel like home, even if it was for a quick getaway trip. Very unique place as well. Definitely would recommend!
