You can enjoy "Valemont Vista," our 3 bedroom, 2 bath family home on centrally located but quiet & safe Point Loma. Enjoy meals on our balcony patio while viewing the incredible views of Shelter Island, San Diego harbor and downtown day or night.
The amazing views can be seen from the living room, dining room, kitchen and back bedroom. You will find cable tv in the living room and master bedroom and wireless internet access throughout the house. Within the last six years, new carpets and flooring were installed and the entire interior repainted. New energy efficient appliances (washer, dryer and dishwasher) were installed more recently. To save even more energy we encourage the use of the outside clothes drying lines in the back yard.
To make your stay at our Valemont Vista even more interesting and relaxing, some of you might consider taking a break and unplugging from the digital world stepping back into an earlier time before smart phones, computers and the flat screen tv you find in the living room. Our home was built in 1958 with high standards and equipped to be "all electric" and very modern for its time. Though most of the appliances have been upgraded as mentioned, you can still enjoy the charming retro style kitchen counters, electric stove and oven, breakfast nook, wooden kitchen and pantry cabinets and colorfully tiled bathrooms that many have come to appreciate.
The electric ceiling heat, however, is one fifties feature we replaced with new thermostats and more efficient electric wall heaters provided in each room along with new smoke detectors. There are enough beds to sleep six plus a pull-out sofa bed in the living room and sleeping pads are also available to comfortably accommodate eight.
In summary, visitors find our unique home comfortable and interesting with its continuously changing views and charming style. As seen below, it's also ideally located for exploring southern California and Mexico.

In addition to the two car garage and the balcony patio with the view, we have a fenced backyard with an additional patio, barbecue, shade trees and a lemon tree. You may find a lemon to use with your meal or drink. There is a closet in the master bedroom and tool rooms behind the garage and the house that are not for use by renters. You also have access to another storage closet in the master bedroom, to books and videos by the front door and to maps and tourist attraction information in the breakfast nook area of the kitchen. The latter is fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes and utensils as well as some basic items for your use such as tea, coffee, and spices. For the dishwasher, we ask that you use the soap tablets and rinsing liquid provided. For the new washer, we provide the laundry soap recommended for that appliance as well directions for it and the dryer's use. But for energy saving and the environment, we encourage you to hang clothes on the backyard line, weather and time permitting. For the same reason, we ask that you separate your recyclables, into the marked bins including compostible items (except for meat, fish or dairy) which go into the small metal container and eventually into the brown compostor at the end of the backyard on the left. We appreciate your cooperation.

Our representative Lynn Guidi who lives in the neighborhood usually interacts with our guests before and during check-in and/or check-out. She also is glad to give suggestions for restaurants and local sights or for any questions or concerns that arise about the use of our home. For example, if there is a plumbing or electrical problem, call her or Marcelino our maintenance person. Their numbers are in the Guest Guide to the use of Valemont Vista found on the dining room table. You will find the pass code for access to the internet in the Guide. We welcome you to add your comments there as well as reviews on this website.
A wonderful way to experience San Diego is to hike, drive or bike from the house 3.5 miles out on Point Loma with breathtaking views of San Diego bay on one side and the Pacific on the other until you reach the Cabrillo National Monument with its lighthouse, tide pools, nature trails and visitor and whale watching centers. It's not to be missed whether you drive out in 10 minutes or spend the day exploring on foot or bike. Also over the hill a few blocks to the west is the beautiful Sunset Cliffs park where you can join others for the satisfying ritual of watching the sun sink into the Pacific. Nearby Ocean Beach is one of our favorites, a quirky, diverse community with a fine beach for sunbathing, boogie boards and surfing. Its colorful shops, restaurants, a special area of beach for dogs (off leash ok), and a long pier allowing fishing and close-up views of surfers provide something for everyone. Its old-time hardware store is probably the best and most helpful in the San Diego area.
Except for used towels and sheets which should be left where used, you agree to leave the property in the same clean condition in which you find it. Cooking equipment, dishes, towels, linens, blankets and cleaning supplies are provided for use only during your stay. The landlord/owner is not responsible for damage or loss of renters' personal property.
