Our stay at Tom's home in Berkeley was absolutely fantastic. Tom's family was traveling on vacation, and even with a 3 hour time difference, I never felt any inconvenience in communicating with him.
Their home is a lovely craftsman is situated in one of best locations that Berkeley has to offer. Just blocks away from North Berkeley's "gourmet ghetto" the options for dining, dessert, or a night cap are endless.
Our family of 5 (3 little children) felt right at home, evidenced by our many meals eating in. Their updated kitchen has great appliances, and all the cooking tools needed to satisfy your inner Alice Waters. Our children had the time of their lives playing with the awesome collection of toys and books, and an awesome custom-built play house that Tom built in the backyard.
If you want to relax and enjoy the famous bay area weather, the backyard provides an inviting environment, surrounded by beautiful plants, flowers, and patio furniture. A gas grill is available if you want to throw it down over some flames as well.
The beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of fresh linens and towels available as well. A state of the art washer and dryer that can wash an entire football team's load was one of the most appreciated assets of this home.
Last but not least, they have the coolest cat on the planet, named Boki that kept us company throughout the trip. She stayed out of our way, but also came to hang out, which we could never get enough of.
5 stars, all around.
