Blue Gum Studio is a great little self-contained studio in the heart of the suburb of Narara, and looks out to a relaxing view of bushland and creek . Just 60 km on the freeway from Sydney, 7 minutes to Gosford city centre and Gosford Hospital, and 25 minutes to Terrigal Beach.
Blue Gum Studio is a wonderfully cosy and clean self-contained space, well equipped with basic kitchen supplies including a selection of teas and coffee, fresh fruit and milk on arrival, herbs, sauces and cooking oil, filtered and spring water. There is wireless internet, television and a DVD player, with a selection of DVDs. There is also a docking station and speakers for music. Breakfast basket may be provided as an extra service if you would like to discuss your needs. Indoor cooking: microwave, small electric skillet, toaster/grill/oven. Outdoor cooking: Barbeque with grill and hotplate, and a two burner gas cooker. A desk just the right size for your ipad or laptop and a comfortable reading chair. If you would like to arrange an evening meal delivered to the studio, please speak with us.
There are spare towels in the room and we can provide more if needed. Also, if you are staying for 5, 6 days or more, we can arrange fresh linen for you for a small fee or if you would prefer - a room make up and service including changing sheets, towels, cleaning kitchenette, bathroom and deck (cleaning fee cost) - which may suit if you are staying for a week or more.
Blue Gum Studio is surrounded by the Australian blue gum trees and our amazing clumping bamboos. When the winds blow, the gentle swooshing of the bamboos creates a peaceful backdrop. The Blue Gum is renowned for its Eucalyptus essential oil, used as an antiseptic, with its leaves used for herbal tea and its the pollen of its flowers gathered by bees for honey.
The studio is compact so best to bring small bags rather than large pieces of luggage.
Accès des voyageurs
Blue Gum Studio is self-contained with its own access gate between our home and the garage, with parking on the street just outside. From your back deck you can look over to bushland and watch the afternoon sun play in the trees beyond the creek. We are artist/art therapist/writer (Kate) and Acreage and Farm Maintenance man/nature photographer (Greg) happy for you to share a glass of wine around the firepit, or to be completely self-contained. The Studio backs onto the garage which is separate from our home and we appreciate you arriving during daylight hours.

We are happy for you to be completely private and self- contained but also welcome contact and conversation if you prefer. We've lived in our home for 10 years so have a wonderful knowledge of the area. We can offer some great places to see and directions to beach and bush locations along with local farmers markets on weekends. Greg is a kayaker and bush walker with some great tips and places he can share in this area. And as artist/musician and photographer we can also provide a fabulous Central Coast Arts Trail.
Our booklet will show all the shops and centres for any of your needs. Under a km in both directions you will find 'corner stores' and bottleshops. 25 minutes cross country, through farms and acreages, you will arrive at the very popular Terrigal Beach. And a little further on is North Avoca and Avoca Beach. Should you want quieter waterways and beaches, we can advise.
Smoking is outside on the deck only. We have Molly our 2.5 kg Pomeranian - 7 years old. A very easy going little dog. Essential to keep the side gate entrance closed at all times as Molly has never mastered road saviness!
We are a friendly and creative mature couple, both lovers of nature, bushland and eco living. I'm an artist, author and art therapist. Greg works on acreages around the Central Coast, moving ever more into natural farming methods. He is a keen nature photographer, kayaker and bushwalker. Molly is 6 years old and a much loved and tiny member of our family!
