À propos de ce logement

My husband and I (gay interracial couple) have a second bedroom for guests. There is usually ample free parking on our block. The bathroom and living space is shared. The bedroom has a full bed and is off the kitchen. We occasionally welcome airbnb guests. The bedroom is above the train, so it rumbles just a bit when trains go by. The apartment is two blocks from the F Train, close to prospect park, 30 minutes by train to Times Square or Coney Island, and surrounded by restaurants and more.

Description

My husband and I (gay interracial couple) have a second bedroom for guests. There is usually ample free parking on our block. The bathroom and living space is shared. The bedroom has a full bed and is off the kitchen. We occasionally welcome airbnb guests. The bedroom is above the train, so it rumbles just a bit when trains go by. For Brooklyn, and NYC, it is unique to have an outdoor space. Ours is shared, but still nice to have. We are also very close to Prospect Park. There are quaint restaurants and a coffee shop on our block. It has been mentioned, but the rumbling train actually is a bit of fun for a NYC experience. There is usually FREE STREET parking in front of our building or within a block (watch street cleaning signs if a week day).

There is a private bedroom for you to use. You have access to the kitchen (limited refrigerator space), the bathroom, the outdoor space, and the living room. We don't have cable, but do have both chromecast and roku (chromecast in the rental bedroom).

Although we don't spend much time at home, Eric is just a text message or phone call away to give advice on places to eat, to walk, or to help you figure out navigating the city and subway. David and Eric are both transplants to NYC and have done many touristy things in the past two years, allowing us to give you advice as you need it.

Windsor Terrace/Kennsington is what I call a yoga, stroller, and puppy neighborhood with lots of ethnic diversity. It is safe at night and quiet. With the park and the cemetery close by, the open space is refreshingly quiet compared to other parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan. Our four block area has a number of great little places to eat, a grocery store, gas station, cleaners, coffee shop, small basketball courts, a library, and plenty of unique shops. The F/G Train Fort Hamilton Station is just 30 minutes away from Times Square and Coney Island on week days. After 11 p.m. or on weekends, there is sometimes construction that can make the train ride longer. We are just off the 278 BQE which can be a lifesaver as long as traffic is moving.

The F/G Train stop is less than 1/10th of a mile from our apartment. You have to get off at the front of the train to go out our exit if you are coming from Manhattan or the back of the train if you are coming from Coney Island. If there is construction on the weekend, the Church Avenue station is only a half mile away. Uber, Taxi cabs, and buses are also all convenient. We are close to the BQE as well.

We both work full time, so sometimes you might have to wait 20-30 minutes for us or a friend to meet you with the keys. As long as we arrange a pick up or meeting time in advance, we can try to be there at the arranged time. We will not accept guests checking in after 11:00 p.m. on a week night. If your flight lands at 10:00 p.m. into any of the airports, a train will not get you to our apartment in less than 90 minutes. It is best to use Uber or a taxi.

Please do not mention to people in our building that you are airbnb guests, but instead are friends visiting.

My husband and I are both active. We like working out. We are middle age gay men who love adventure. We like to cook, to kayak and hike. We both love music and movies. I'm an avid reader. We love shopping and antique collecting. I collect amateur art. We are both Christians and go to a fun liberal christian church in the village. We hope to travel more as we can.
