has excellent shopping, restaurants and clubs all around. Both Blvd
St-Laurent and Rue St-Denis have many shops and restaurants; to the north
Mont-Royal has more shops and restaurants, and you can enjoy nightlife south
to the Quartier Latin.

Once you walk out of the building you will find the major intersection of Duluth and St-Denis Street Just up the street to your right. There’s a big wine store there.
Along St-Denis Street you will find great restaurants and shopping; two of
the closest, which we love, are the Café Cherrier (breakfast).
To your left you will see a pedestrian street called Prince Arthur (look for
the our Restaurant, Bistro Les Deux Gamins - a great place for afternoon
cocktails (if it's sunny, of course) and there's always great food and live
French singers on Friday and Saturday nights. On Prince Arthur, you can find
two convenience stores (depanneur in French); one small one in the first
block, and a larger one with more food items two blocks further (both on the
north side of Prince Arthur).

The end of Prince Arthur takes you "the Main" - Boulevard St-Laurent - this
is the street that divides the city East and West. Here is the place to see
and be seen especially during Grand Prix.you will find the hippest
restaurants lounges and nightclubs along this strip as well as a large
number of boutique shops of all kinds.

It was a great stay for me and my sister. TJ was very quick to respond to any concerns I had. Also, the location was great - it was close to everything. Everywhere I wanted to go was a walk away including the subway, restaurants, boutiques... the only downfall was the odour from humidity, and the dust. Also, the bedroom window had broken blinds so privacy was a little bit of an issue (there were men doing construction outside). Other than that, great place for the value! Thanks TJ

Sorry about the humidity and dust but there was a roof leak when we had torrential downpours a few weeks ago and the back of the building was gutted and a new roof was put on while you were there. It's all good as new now that construction is done and the water all dried up.

This is a great apartment - it's located right at the heart of our favorite neighborhood in Montreal, close to the Sherbrooke metro, one block from St. Denis, and a short walk to St. Laurent, Mont Royal, and Parc LaFontaine. You can't get more walkable than this! The apartment was comfortably furnished, had a spacious and well-appointed kitchen, and a very nice bathroom. The bedroom had plenty of storage space, and the mattress was nice and firm. There were even night tables and reading lamps, which is a nice touch that many hosts don't think to include. There isn't really a good place to sit down to eat, but we made do in the living room, which was fine, as we weren't eating many meals at home. It was at times a little noisy, which is not surprising in a busy city. Light sleepers might want to bring ear plugs just in case. Most of the time, though, it was a quiet street, even though it's only a block off St. Denis. As a host, TJ's communication was great - when there were minor issues, he responded quickly, and got things sorted out right away. Overall, I can strongly recommend this place for anyone looking to stay in one of the most beautiful and interesting neighborhoods in Montreal!

PROS: - Very close to a lot of great restaurants, there is a cute breakfast place around the corner called Chez Jose and a very tasty and cheap Portuguese Chicken place called Romados - The Bathroom is awesome, there is even a radio beside the shower so you can listen to music while you are having a nice hot shower - The area is pretty quiet and is family & couple friendly - There is a large kitchen if you choose to cook -Neighbors are friendly -There is free parking - Very bike friendly area CONS: -Definitely not as clean as I anticipated, there was dust along the baseboards and the dated A/C blew dust whenever you turned it on in the bedroom. The kitchen stove was also not very clean. - The door took a bit of elbow grease to open - The host was not very amicable and friendly, I felt like I was pulling teeth or harassing him whenever I asked a question, for example I asked about parking and his response was simply "see listing", then I asked about the wi-fi because it was advertised in the listing as being available on the fridge which it was not when I arrived and his response was simply the wi-fi name and password-- no formalities or apologies - The couches are not that comfortable and are a bit dated - The house is under a bit of construction but there is no noise which I suppose is good - There IS free parking but it is just in certain sections, if you don't get there early you will have to pay for parking at one of the meters around the corner which is somewhat inconvenient if you have to carry all your bags from the car to the apartment - Overall not really a good sense of getting a bang for your buck- I have stayed in other air b n b's in the Plateau for a lower cost that I saw more value in when it came to convenience, comfort and friendliness of the host.

Tim's place was highly enjoyable during our 4-night stay in mid-August. The apartment is plenty spacious for two people. A renovated bathroom, well-stocked kitchen, cozy bed, and air conditioning units in the living room and bedroom made our time in Montreal very comfortable. A minor knock is the lack of bathroom essentials like hand soap and shampoo - he did have a hair dryer and a cool shower CD player, though. Killer location in the heart of the Le Plateau Mont Royal. 10-minute walk to Schwartz's and other eateries/shops on Boulevard St. Laurent, as well as nearby Rue St. Denis for some interesting nightlife and food shops. The Plateau is the coolest place in Montreal if you're into locally-owned shops and a bohemian vibe. Tim was accommodating in allowing us to check-in early at around noon - although we didn't get to meet him in person, he was reachable by text to ensure the arrival was a smooth one. I'd highly recommend Tim's place if you're looking for a comfortable, centrally-located apartment in an awesome city.
