This is a quiet property where we love and honor nature and wildlife. We are in the country just minutes from the activities in Ashland. There are wonderful trails, meadows, awesome skies, and steps to the water (the lake dries up some by summer end, so the water's edge is abit farther.) Please honor our resident cats, the wild life, our Property Manager's home and deck, and our neighbors' property. The house is large and airy, feel free to adjust the temperature as you need it. We can show you how if the written instructions aren't clear. There is ample closet space and hangers in both bedrooms, and extra blankets for your comfort.
As in most locations, phone service depends on your carrier. Verizon, AT&T, and other services are reliable. Some have more spotty connection. Please let the property manager know about any questions. Internet has two different access logons depending on whether you're using Mac or PC. The water is sourced from volcanic land and has been tested several times for purity. It is pristine, although you may notice a sulfer~like aroma at times. Please be assured the homeowner uses it daily and ensures it's quality. All information is printed for you, so please read it! And always feel free to inquire if you need help. We want you to feel very comfortable and have all that you need :)
We are environmentally conscious and in the spirit of co-creating a healthy environment for all, we ask that our guests use the recycling bins behind and to the left of the garage door, refrain from using scented personal products (perfume/cologne) or candles in the home during your stay with us. Please remember, absolutely no smoking is allowed anywhere on the property. This property is safe for children above two years of age if continually attended. The house design and land would not be safe for children unattended. Logistically it is not appropriate for infants and children under two. Thank you for understanding. We love children and families, however we feel these guidelines are necessary.
We have neighbors with several farm animals, and there are three cats that live here. We are open to the discussion about your pets with the option to decide what may or may not work here based on individual circumstances. Given that your pet situation would work out, we have the following guidelines:
Keep the inside clean from any remnants of your pet. Keep your pets off of all furniture and counters. Be sure to do your best to prevent accidents on the floors, carpets, or furniture by taking your pet out often. Please be sure that you keep your pet on a leash when outside the house. Pick up after your pet when taking him/her out with disposable bags that you place in the garbage cans outside. In the event that there is an accident, please clean the area thoroughly with the carpet cleaner provided and with the mop to clean the floors. We would also appreciate if you would keep the areas clean of pet hair, vacuuming as needed. There will be a pet deposit prior to check in for the additional cleaning that will be required. Please inquire and we will provide more details.
We ask that you place your used linens and towels including kitchen and bath towels in the washing machine and please start the first wash. Please wash all dishes, pans, and utensils as you use them. This keeps the home and airways clean and fresh. When you are preparing to leave, if there are clean dishes in the dishwasher or counter dish rack, please put them away where they are stored.
If an item becomes broken, please let Alaya know immediately unless it is after 10pm, and then let her know in the morning. Please assemble all pieces and place them in a bag to give to Alaya. Sweep and vacuum as needed to ensure safety.
As you leave the house for town or your other adventures, please be sure and lock up all doors. Windows may be left open for fresh air unless a storm is approaching. Please be sure and close doors behind you to keep the cats out and bugs. This is country living and we meticulously clean just before all guest arrivals, however there may be an insect here and there that enters especially if doors are left open.
We observe the quiet time of 10pm in places where your sounds might be heard. This includes the decks to the house and walkways. If you are leaving for an excursion or for your next destination before 8am, please be aware of using quiet voices. We appreciate your consideration and kindness as our guest.
We warmly welcome you to our amazing scenic haven.
Our gracious and friendly Property Managers live on site and are available by cell phone, email, and in person (if out-and-about) to greet you, answer your questions about the house, the area’s many choices of restaurants and attractions, and to give directions. Please feel free to communicate freely for non emergency items between the hours of 9am~9pm. For essentials and emergencies, please make contact as circumstances require. Unless you request help with the house, we will not enter during your stay to honor your privacy. We trust that you will let us know if you have a problem or need something. We value open communication and want you to have what you need to be comfortable and feel welcome.
I have enjoyed living near Ashland (12 minutes to all services I ever need) but being in a beautiful mountain valley with gorgeous 270 degree views, a lake, a creek, fresh air, millions of stars at night, local swimming and SUPing, beautiful hikes and cross-country skiing just out my back door, and fun downhill skiing at Mount Ashland 40 minutes away. It is my pleasure to host people from all over the world who are attracted by Ashland's culture and natural splendor. As you can see in the pictures, the lodge is lovely, comfortable and warm. I, and my on-site manager, Alaya, who lives nearby, welcome you and are glad to responsibly provide all that you expect and more. In return we wish all of our guests to care for our property as though it were your own, enjoy it, and leave it as nice as you found it.
