A unique on-water experience with all the creature comforts of a home. “Eucala” is a very beautiful and cleverly laid out classic French motor yacht with a really rich heritage. We have recently renovated her trying to remain sympathetic to her former style and glory and is fully heated. She has 3 cabins, all with en suite toilets/shower rooms, 2 separate living areas (saloon/lounge and dining) and 3 different outside seating/sunbathing areas (including a BBQ on the rear deck) all of which provide comfortable and ample in and outdoor space - the latter especially when the weather is good - for up to 6 guests.

If the weather permits..... there are magnificent gardens to relax in; sun loungers with a tranquil river view; a floating boat-shaped island with a comprehensive BBQ (BBQ only available approx. April to October) and outside dining/seating areas; kayaks and an electric boat. PLEASE NOTE: the use of all these facilities are free at our guests' own risk. A 7-seat motor boat is also available at a cost of £50/day (includes the first tank of fuel). Charters/cruises can be arranged upon request.

As and when required - we really have tried our best to make this a fun/exciting but comfortable/relaxing experience - without it being intrusive!

RECOMMENDED RESTAURANTS BY ELECTRIC OR MOTOR BOAT
There are a few restaurants accessible by boat. Depending on which restaurant you want to visit will depend on which boat you take, ie. the further away you go, the more likely the batteries on the electric boat might run out of power whereas a full tank of petrol on the motor boat will last more than a day!

By electric
Our favourite, ‘Mute Swan’ (as per above). Head down river towards Kingston-upon-Thames through one lock. Moor up outside ‘Riverside Brasserie’ (Carlton Mitre Hotel) just before Hampton Court Bridge and walk a few meters to reach it.
Or
‘Bell Inn’ is a British gastro pub. Head up river towards Sunbury, past Pink Floyd’s old recording studio ‘Astoria’ on the right. Moor up near the boat rentals/sailing club, also on the right, and walk across the road.

By motor
‘The Magpie’ serves delicious traditional pub food overlooking the river (the fish and chips are to die for!) Head up river towards Sunbury, past Pink Floyd’s old recording studio ‘Astoria’ on the right. Before Sunbury lock on the left, ‘The Magpie’ is on the right and moorings are possible right outside the terrace.
Or
Our other favourite, ‘Steins’, is a German restaurant serving traditional Bavarian food and beer (the schweinshaxe - roasted pork knuckle with crackling - is 100% recommended but needs to be pre-ordered!) Head down river to Kingston-upon-Thames itself (through one lock) and ‘Steins’ is on the right before Kingston bridge. Moorings are possible right outside.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Wildlife:
You may wish to feed our resident ducks, swans and geese – a great fun thing to do (reducing stress and increasing creativity too!) Cooked rice, birdseed, peas, corn, oats and chopped lettuce are far superior to bread, the latter causing nasty surface algae, killing fish and giving waterfowl diseases. Also, look out for the wild parakeets in the area!

Fishing:
Please note, it is always worth investigating when fishing is possible. Penalties for fishing outside designated seasons fetch fines of up to £50,000. Please always obtain a permit.

Train station is half a mile away which is then a 35 minute journey into Central London/Waterloo. Heathrow airport is 6 miles away by car/cab.

ID
Guests are required to provide a scan or photo of their government issued photographic ID (passport or driver's license) prior to their arrival.

PARKING
On-road parking is normally free at weekends and restrictions usually apply during weekdays, ie. 8:00am to 9:30am AND 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Alternatively, there is a parking facility approx. 200 meters away which is £1.50 per hour between 8:00am to 8:00pm but locked between 11pm to 6am. Having said this however, due to functions at Hampton Court Palace, the parking situation is always subject to change. We have also organised with a local Restaurant/Hotel approx. 350 meters away for our guests to be able to park there for £5 a day, organised directly with them.

CHECK-INS / MEET AND GREET
As we both work, have children and don't live at the marina, we can't always be on hand to meet and greet our guests. Having said this, we have an outside key safe so our guests can let themselves in and also have a comprehensive alphabetical HELP guide on board to cover just about every and any eventuality we can think of - but are always at the end of the phone/e-mail should our guests get stuck, need to be ‘shown the ropes’ and/or wish to give us additional feedback!

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE
Please be forewarned, being on a boat is a very unique experience and many things are different to being a landlubber and staying in standard accommodation, or a hotel, in terms of staffing, water supply, pumping out after showers, toilet flush systems, etc. Upon booking, we will send details of the things that are not strikingly obvious so our guests are forearmed. We really have tried our best to make this a fun/exciting but comfortable/relaxing experience - without it being intrusive - and very much hope you enjoy your stay!

Règlement intérieur
Non fumeur
Ne convient pas aux animaux
Pas de fête ni de soirée
L'entrée dans les lieux se fait entre 16:00 et 02:00 (jour suivant)

No smoking on the yacht or anywhere within the marina. No shoes inside the yacht. The number of guests who are booked to stay may access the property only - please don't invite extra people. This is not a party venue. Respect our neighbours. Please wash dishes and BBQ grill before departure. Thanks

Eucala is a stylish vintage motor yacht with many mod cons. Set in a fabulous marina just minutes from Hampton Court, its location is convenient for central London (25 minutes via rail) and for the shops & restaurants opposite Hampton Court Palace. Klaus & Natasha are great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. There are also some kayaks & a battery operated boat for use of guests which are great for exploring the river. My husband, myself and our 13 year old son had a lovely time helped by fabulous weather for the duration of our stay & would definitely recommend staying on Eucala.

The photos tell the story about life on board. If you are fed up with boring, same old hotel rooms try a yacht. Was fabulous weather when we went and the view down the river watching rowers going by silently while you enjoy a G&T is hard to beat. Lots of great pubs in nearby areas along the river. We used it as a base for a Twickenham match which is a £9 Uber trip away. You have to try the electric boat too. Would stay again and can't say more than that.

We absolutely loved staying on board this beautiful yacht. The marina is idyllic and very beautiful. The yacht itself was gorgeous, really comfortable with everything you need and more (my husband particularly liked the playstation!). The lounge area is lovely and cosy (amazing colour changing lights if you want them!) and we appreciated the wifi and games. The bed was really comfortable and the other bedrooms looked lovely. Plenty of room and if the weather is nice you can sit on the deck or go up top to use the sun loungers. We only wish we had stayed for longer and will definitely be back! Thank you!
