I suppose this is every home-owners nightmare - a sudden and unexpected outbreak of fleas in a warm spell of weather. And even more so when you have guests. We are very sorry this happened when you were in residence Neil and for this reason we repaid you more than half your rental. However, it would have been helpful if you had told us about it much earlier in your stay, from the beginning perhaps when you first noticed 'insects' or definitely on the night that you identified one as a flea. Instead you waited until your last evening to inform us of the problem and it was then impossible for us to do more than clean thoroughly and then spray the next day after you left. The spray we used is safe for home use but is veterinary recommended to efficiently deal with the problem. Unfortunately we were not able to do this treatment in time for you but we can assure you that the house is now back to normal and flea-free. You suggest that we didn't change all the beds after you left so just in order to settle this doubt in your mind, I can assure you that we did, including washing the protective covers. Bearing in mind that this is our own home I would like to add that of course we do everything we can to keep it clean, fresh and hygienic. We are very sorry that you had this experience in our cottage.
