Denise was such a kind and caring host. She made sure everything went well and easy. The room I was in was exactly as described. The area was great for a lengthy summer stay. Easy access to all transit lines too. Great stay outside of the city but close enough to fully enjoy.

Overall, my stay went well. As promised, the common areas were kept clean. If there was a problem in the house, Denise was prompt to fix it. The bedroom was a decent size, with enough storage space, and a window AC which cooled the room quickly. There was a free washer and dryer in the basement. Forest park is a quiet, cute area, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and close to public transportation. I felt safe in Forest Park.

Unfortunately, I cannot give a feedback as positive as Denise's one. I can only advise not booking Denise's rooms. Apart of getting insulted verbally and via text messages regularly for any private reasons on Denise's side and making promises she doesn't keep (on her page, she says that additional guests are of no charge, but in reality, she takes 10$ per night), she often fools people that move in. First she makes you a good offer and then, she puts people in small rooms down basement (there are 5 rooms down basement). Then, she offers you another room upstairs but for a much higher price (I had to pay additonal 150$ per month). Furthermore, the rooms are way too small for the high prices; you can find cheaper rooms downtown with a higher comfort. In additon, she puts flyer everywhere with all kinds of interdictions. And trust me, I'm not the only one thinking this way. I saw a lot of people moving in but moving out just a month later because they had enough of the housing situation. All in all, I'd say that it's still okay for a short stay but not for several months!! Please do not do the same mistake I did!

Anna Hemmerling was a real piece of work. She initially contacted me thru airbnb and we conversed for about 2.5 to 3 months prior to her booking and expected arrival. At the same time, a current tenant-who had booked thru airbnb (Thomas)- (who unbeknownst to me) knew Anna- negotiated rental for his friend (he did not give me a name) for an upstairs room next to him. Consequently I thought I had two people arriving. Anna booked a twin bed for 700$ per month in the basement through airbnb, and had Thomas give me the impression that his friend was taking upstairs for 900.00. The day of check in I was enlightened. Thomas and Anna had tried to pull a fast one- booking a room for $700.00 on airbnb- and expecting to occupy my best room (which is considerably more expensive) - next to Thomas. As a result I lost business, since I was led to believe I had two rooms booked rather than one. The other students sharing the unit with Anna found her self serving, arrogant and rude. Many complained that she was very cold and unfriendly- thinking much to much of herself. Anna booked a room for one person. Typically my rooms are booked for only one guest. A second guest is an additional charge due to more water and usage in the building. A guest may stay for one, two or three nights free of charge, but I ask that I be notified so that i am aware of who is in the building. Anna requested that her boyfriend move in for over 3 weeks- I required that she pay an additional 150.00 as compensation. Anna seldom communicated. I would frequently ask her if she needed anything or if she had any problems or concerns. Anna was provided a beautiful clean apartment with a huge beautiful 2nd floor room that she was moved into from the basement room that she booked (for an additional 150.00 per month). She was was rude and cold to other students in the building and has made many assumptions about the opinions of other students. She was frequently rude to others, but very clean and quiet. I had no idea Anna was so miserable during her stay. She could of moved out and shortened her reservation. She resided her for several months. No one twisted her arm to stay. I would have gladly allowed a reservation alteration- but none was requested. No one twisted her arm to stay the entire time she booked. Anna could of relocated. Her friend Thomas and Raimund (both from Germany) the same time as Anna resided here- appeared to be content and did not post any negative reviews. Many of my medical students and international students are present for one month only. This is not a reflection of dissatisfaction.

Room was clean and warm with easy access to the Loyola campus. Difficult to get to the house from the airport on public transportation (1.5 hours) and a $40 dollar cab ride. Otherwise, a fine place to spend a night.

Since you’re thinking about staying with me, let me introduce myself! My name is Dee and I’ve been living in the Chicago Area all my life. And I live quite a happy life. Here’s a bit more about me.

--My Hobbies--
I love the outdoors and I love to exercise. So daily you’ll find me riding the beautiful bike path near my house all over the area. If not biking, you can also often find me running my dogs on the local paths and parks.

--Why I Do AirBnB--
I do AirBnB hosting because it enriches my life. When people come together from all over the US and the world, long lasting friendships form. Also Chicago is one of the most beautiful American cities, and I love helping people when they visit our city, and surrounding suburbs. This is why I really do my best to create a fun, and warm environment for every student that stays.

--My Work--
Simply stated, I am an entrepreneur, and have been most of my life. During that time I have created, owned and operated 4 businesses, including my current company, A+ master tutoring center, located in Oak Park Il. I am a certified educator. I became interested in education several years ago and became a teacher in American public schools, then I decided to start my tutoring center.

I love running my tutoring center because I have been able to help countless children learn essential skills that prepare them to take charge of their lives when they leave school. I love helping American children and adults of all ages because I believe our school system is a disappointment.
I love working with students from all over the world because they are amazing and restore my faith in humanity.
