UNI is my sister and she hosts the space in our parent's household. One bedroom apartment with a terrace overlooking the village's everyday life will give you the real taste of Balinese traditions, hardworking character and warmhearted hospitality.

The apartment is located in our family compound and was therefore built and furnished paying as much attention to the details as possible. Every person we welcome in our house is a special guest who joins our family even if or a short period of time. Wooden furniture is used in most areas of the space with traditional Balinese wooden crafts.
Please be aware that living in a Balinese village means you will have an opportunity to experience the true everyday life of Balinese people which involves getting up early, probably with the alarm of the neighborhood rooster and a dog greeting the passing people. Do not expect traffic noise or party people, but value the meaning of a smile you will receive from each house you will pass in the village and each greeting you will hear - we like our guests and consider our duty to meet and greet people with a smile on our face.

UNI's PLACE is a one bedroom apartment with separate spacious bathroom and the outdoor kitchen located in a traditional Balinese family compound. Right on the west side of the entrance gate the small stairs will lead you up to your small private space.
Your first steps will take you on a terrace which you might confuse with a real garden because of the blooming flowers and plants all over the place. A small temple rises from the greenery and, yes, you will not miss your private coconut tree with the yellow coconuts begging for a good photo capture.

The room is furnished in typical Balinese style with wood crafted king size bed and the terrace view. Spacious bathroom is at your service as well.

Kitchen area is located right at the entrance and will be equipped with all the necessary utensils so you can enjoy your fresh made juice in the morning or a nicely cooked meal in the evening.

My family also lives in the compound, so you will witness the everyday offering ceremony, sense the aromas of the burning incenses and yes, my mother owns a small textile shop right downstairs and sometimes you will hear the heartbeat of the sewing machine as my mother also sews for the village people.

Wayan and uni's family are such wonderful hosts. I recommend staying in their village as they are very welcoming and you have a special opportunity to experience the true essence of Balinese traditions and culture. You may be aware there was the eruption of the volcano at mount Agung and I would like to make it clear that it did not effect my stay at Wayan's at all nor will it effect ubud in the future. I would keep this in mind if you had concerns about this. Don't miss out on this wonderful experience. The area is truly picturesque and outside of the mayhem of the centre of ubud. Beautiful rice fields everywhere, friendly people who will always kindly help you with anything. Close to a few warungs and basic necessities. Such a special Bali experience I had this time around. Wayan and her family are incredibly generous and I am really grateful to have stayed with them. Will definitely come back to stay with them :) Thankyou thankyou thankyou xxxxx

If you are looking for an authentic stay, look no furthur! I can't say enough wonderful things about staying here. We arrived late in the night and Wayan and her family waited up to greet us. Immediately you feel like part of the family too. The room itself is charming and private, giving you a perfect view of the neighborhood. The patio is a lovely place to sip your coffee and watch over the daily actions of the neighborhood, the greenery, and various butterflies. Wayan was extremely generous in sharing her community with us. She had invited us to a ceremony that had being going on while we were there as well as her niece's wedding! She even lent us traditional Balinese clothes to wear. Its the kind of experience you cant buy, and a memory we will never forget. Ubud is absolutely beautiful. Everywhere you drive you are surrounded by lush jungles and rice fields. Wayan's place isn't far from town where there are tons of great bars, restaurants and shopping. It was the perfect way to get to know Bali and we hope to come back someday soon. We may miss the family dog Yoshi the most but Ubud, Bali is a close second :)

We looooved staying at Uni's place!!! Stayed almost a month, felt like home from the start. Wayan took care of everything, from giving us advices on Ubud and Bali, organising a pick up from the airport, inviting us to a cremation ceremony that only happens every 5 years (and helping us get dressed for the occasion!)! We were So lucky to be part of it. Her family lives downstairs and we felt like part of the family from the start. Uni and Wayan's mom has a special place in our hearts. She was so mindul of everything! Whenever we were out and it started to rain she would run upstairs to put our clothes under a shelter. We arrived tired after a long trip and Uni had prepared breakfast. I can only recommend this Airbnb, the space, the people, the walk to Ubud through the Ricefields, the quiet village and the community feel is incredible. We were welcomed by everyone there and were so sad to leave. The best was Yoshi the Puppy and peanut the kitty coming up to say hi every night. If you are an animal lover, this is your place! (If not, don't worry they won't bother you, they are well behaved!) And peanut's mother just had babies that we were lucky enough to see when they were just born! I cannot recommend this place to anyone who needs peace, quiet, a warm welcome from a gorgeous family, great night sleep, and overall Bali beauty all around. Amazing experience. We miss them all so much already! Thank you Wayan, Uni, and everybody else who took good care of us. You were legends!

Wayan is the best host we could ever ask for. She truly welcomed us into her family, and treated us like her own. Wayan was always available to help us with anything we needed, and went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy. The space was exactly what we wanted for our month-long stay in Ubud. It's private enough, but also gives the guests plenty of opportunity to interact with Wayan's wonderful family. Her mother, father and sister (Uni) were very accommodating; they live on the ground level in the compound, along with an adorable little puppy that we named Yoshi :) The balcony/garden outside the room is beautiful, and is so nice for sitting outside and enjoying pretty sunsets and calm, starry nights. The outdoor kitchen had just about everything we needed, and we used it very frequently. The room itself is simple, but very cute and fairly spacious, with a nice big, comfortable bed and big windows, making for some good natural lighting. Wayan also has several other airbnb's that are quite nice, so if this one is booked, try another one because we HIGHLY recommend staying with Wayan!!! It was such an fun, insightful, and pleasant experience to have her as a host, and it's an honor to be able to call her our friend now! We will certainly be back!

Wayan was so so lovely and on the day I arrived drove me around the area to show me the rice fields even though she has a very busy schedule! The house is outside of Ubud centre but that was the best thing about it! The drive from Ubud to the house was my favourite element and the surrounding area is beautiful and not touristy at all, unlike the crazy centre of Ubud! The house itself is so beautiful and incredible value for money. When I arrived I was given bread, bananas, dragon fruits and fresh young coconuts! I hope I'll be back soon to stay with this lovely family again ❤️
