This Historical Home was owned by Woster S. Vinal, the last living Civil War Veteran on Vinalhaven. When he passed away in 1937 he left the home to his daughter. She gave the house to the Littlefields upon her death in 1975 and they made the upstairs an apartment. In 1999 the house was sold to Rodney Dyer who then turned the back shed into another apartment. Many updates have been done over the years to keep this home in great condtion. Still remaining is the trim and wood floors in the downstairs apartment. Now owned by Rodney's daughters, the home continues to be updated and in 2015 the downstairs apartment received new carpets and kitchen floor among removing wallpaper in 3 of the rooms. The lovely covered porch still remains from the original house and is a great place to relax and enjoy your morning coffee and evening cocktails. 1 Queen bedroom, and 1 King bedroom that is new this season. Living room, Cable TV, Wifi, Land Line Phone, Bathroom with tub/shower, stackable W/D in kitchen closet, fully equipped kitchen (no dishwasher) for your cooking needs.

The covered porch is included in this apartment only and is a private entrance. The apartment is on East Main Street, in a neighborhood just a few blocks from town center. There are 3 apartments in the house, only 2 are available for summer rentals at this time. I have one tenant year round. The two apartments that are available to rent for the summer are easily combined to accommodate a larger group or family.

I live just around the corner and will be available, or have someone available if I'm away and in case of any issue that may arise. I have made every effort to have the apartment fully stocked but may have missed something. Cell service is spotty on the island, so if you're in need of directions to the house, be sure to firm those up before landing on the island!
Cleanliness is a top priority for me so I ask my guests to help out by doing their dishes, and taking their food and trash with them when they depart.
