We were privileged to be only the second guests to stay overnight at Modesto and Mariana's lovely unit. It is a beautifully put-together very well stocked and furnished 2-bedroom apartment in a modern building, with lift, very convenient to downtown Lyon by car or public transportation.
For me, the space was just about perfect! It has a comfortable living room; efficient, keen looking and working kitchen; bedrooms separated at opposite ends of the unit, with both having ample closet space and plenty of room to get around the bed. There is an option for two single beds or a king bed in the left bedroom, and I believe for the right, as well, so you have many configurations possible for sleeping. Additionally, a very comfortable feather bed was provided for sleeping in the living room, though the couch was uber comfortable and long enough for napping, as well.
Modesto showed us the many great features of the apartment, as well as some of the great places to visit and see in Lyon. Did I mention the cool picture windows he demo-ed for us with top and side-opening options. Though this may be standard for some, I was dually duly impressed! (I don't know if that word play will translate well through the translator, but it is extremely funny!)
Lyon is wonderful! There is a reason that one of the maps offered for use is headlined: "Addicted to Lyon," and we took advantage, seeing many of the sites and areas during our brief stay. I particularly appreciated the Musee de Confluences that Modesto had recommended. The temporary exhibits on the development of modern museums and Antarctica were literally out of this world and well worth much time enjoying and exploring. I don't know how kosher it is to plant a link in here, but I am not resisting the urge, so ...
There are so many other things Lyonnaise to find and enjoy, I think I might recommend forgoing airbnb altogether and asking Modesto and Mariana if they are looking for year-round or seasonal tenants!
(Just kidding Airbnb powers that be :- )
I know if I had the opportunity, though, I would certainly consider the possibilities of Lyon, its friendly people and lovely environs!
