À propos de ce logement
Tiny House Living is gaining in popularity. This little gem on wheels is well appointed with a bathroom, shower and kitchen, all in a 200 sq ft space in a peaceful natural setting. Lots of windows and skylights make it feel light and open. It feels private and remote sitting on the edge of a pond on our 5 acres, yet is only 2 miles to town and lake. We have loaner bikes for you to enjoy the area. Try it!
Enjoy life in this unique handmade caravan in a beautiful garden setting. You have all the comforts and amenities of a well appointed studio apartment, yet the feeling of staying in a place that is a new and different adventure. This Tiny House on wheels is parked in a lush corner of our 5 acres, with a view of the pond and your own private grassy sitting area and deck. Watch the ducks and herons splash in the water while you enjoy the morning sun, then drive or bike 2 short miles into Sandpoint for great shopping, restaurants, music, entertainment, or a day at the lake. We have 2 bikes to loan if you don't bring your own.
The 10' X 20" Garden Caravan has been a labor of love. Built with many recycled materials, and adorned with touches of arts and crafts, it is also built sturdy and strong (with a hint of the maritime theme) by an experienced boat builder. The queen sized bed sits in it's own private nook, and the rest of the open floor plan is full of windows and skylights to make it feel big and bright.
Complete with RV appliances (gas stove, small refrigerator, toaster oven, water saver marine toilet and shower, and electric heat/hot water), it is very comfortable, on a small scale. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, coffee press, eating utensils etc. We even provide basic spices and condiments. Ready to move in and make a meal. Try out the concept of "compact living" in this cozy space with everything you need, and an abundance of nature just outside your door to give you the feel of openness and freedom. We have a selection of interesting books for you to peruse, and some puzzles and games, but there is no TV. There is, however a great view from the bay-window seat to gaze out of and day dream.
Your hosts live in a house on the same property and may be seen tending to the nearby berry bushes, flower gardens, and vegetable patch. We are available to help in any way you may need, and provide information on the area and all the great recreational opportunities in our town, mountains, or lake. If privacy is what you want, the Garden Caravan is tucked away in it's own peaceful world, but if you need anything, your hosts are right there to assist. If you are here during the growing season you may be offered a bowl of fresh berries for your breakfast, or some organic bounty from the garden for your evening meal.
We have plenty of secure off street parking in front of our house, but you will need to walk 150 feet or so across the grass to get to the Garden Caravan. We live an a rural, friendly neighborhood that is very safe and accommodating. And while the gypsy-type caravan has all the comforts of home, it is similar to a self contained RV and so water use is limited (10 gallon hot water tank for a nice hot short shower).
Treat yourself to something different this vacation!

Owners home is on the same 5 acre piece of property so we are close by if you need anything. But your corner of the property, nestled in the trees by the pond, is very private, and if you so desire, you can be completely on your own.
Please contact owners for availability before booking. Also, we want to be here to greet you and let you into the Garden Caravan so please contact us when you know your arrival time.
Because the Garden Caravan is an exercise in "Compact Living", the toilet and the shower are in the same small clean and well lit room (RV or boat style). The hot water tank is small (10 gallon) so not-too-lengthy showers are best.
It is a small space built for the comfort of 1 or 2 people, if you plan on having visitors we would appreciate you checking with us first.
We are quiet, respectful people, so we request the same of you.
No smoking inside, or within 20 feet of the structure. And if you do smoke outdoors, please use ashtrays and don't litter your cigarette butts.
The wifi signal is pretty good to the Tiny House on Wheels. It works fine for checking e-mail and occasional web-surfing.
2 adults max please, but talk to us if you have a baby, we may be able to accommodate. Sorry, no dogs, it makes the wildlife disappear.
Si vous annulez jusqu'à 7 jours avant le voyage, vous recevez un remboursement à hauteur de 50 % et les frais de service vous sont remboursés intégralement.

My husband Glenn and I live in the small resort town of Sandpoint in North Idaho. We recently sold our manufacturing business of 15 years specializing in solar panel mounting systems for the renewable energy industry. Now that we have a bit more time, we look forward to working on "the bucket list", starting with a lot more traveling!
In the summer we host exchange students, or members of World Wide Opportunities On Organic Farms (WWOOF), so we are familiar and comfortable with inviting people we haven't met into our life and home. We have also enjoyed traveling as Airbnb guests in other people's homes. We love the concept of people sharing who they are and what they have with others, and incorporating more of the "personal touch" in an increasingly impersonal world.
