Catherine is a lovely host and communication was easy. This house met our needs completely as my wife and I and our adult children celebrated a friend’s wedding and visited the area. The home is rented at the right price. It is large and comfortable. Wireless internet is available as well as a printer in the office. These amenities were very helpful for us. We would come back again.
The house is decorated giving honor to Catherine’s faith and everything is furnished. The beds, bedding, kitchen, and bathrooms were clean. Yet, the house is old and the higher sills were dusty. The carpeting was old and stained. There are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom with a tub upstairs. One bedroom has two single beds, another has a double bed (this room functions as an office as well). The master bedroom has a very comfortable king bed but it low to the ground. It is difficult to get in and out off if you have any impairment at all.
Downstairs there is a large kitchen with all the utensils one would need. There is a refrigerator in the kitchen and on the porch. The porch is a wrap around. It is a little smaller than we expected. Off of the kitchen is a nice family/entertainment room with a flat screen TV and stereo system, two couches and a chair. It is very comfortable. Also off the kitchen is a nice bathroom with a shower. There is a large living room with an easy chair and two small couches. The dining area is off the living room next to the kitchen with a functional table and chairs.
Outside there is a large open yard surrounded by trees. There are children’s toys available. Down at the water there is a dock, a table with chairs and a fire pit. Catherine makes available a canoe and a kayak with lifejackets. We did not have time to take advantage of this opportunity. Next time we will.
Catherine has the basement apartment rented out. You share the basement laundry room with the renters. This did not affect our visit at all. Their presence was barely noticeable and exchanges were pleasant and enjoyable.
