À propos de ce logement
A quiet retreat near open fields with grazing sheep and forested hillsides, our house is only two hours from New York City, but feels like it’s in the middle of Vermont. Scenic drives, cool shops and galleries, and delightful restaurants are scattered throughout the quaint, historic towns of the Litchfield Hills.
We have a large, rambling, country colonial in rural NW Connecticut, close to hiking, biking, swimming, boating and skiing. The house is surrounded by Nature Conservancy land and minutes from Mohawk State Forest and Ski Area, the Housatonic River, and abundant lakes, back roads and nature preserves. Area private schools--Hotchkiss, Kent, Salisbury, Marvelwood and Indian Mountain—are within a 20 minute drive. Great Barrington, Massachusetts and Berkshire attractions are 35-45 minutes away.
We can direct you to great spots for plein air painting, or offer you a quiet space to work. Hiking, biking, paddling and skiing (x-c and downhill) information is also available.
Cozy bedrooms are in their own wing with two separate staircases. There is one bedroom with a queen bed, one with a double bed, and one with two single beds. Two bathrooms are adjacent to the bedrooms. This listing is for the double bedroom with an adjacent bathroom. There are two other bedrooms available with separate listings.
Guests have use of a spacious living room and free wifi. Coffee, tea and simple breakfast foods are available upon request. Many wonderful markets and restaurants are a short drive away.
Guests have use of WiFi in their rooms. Kitchen access, laundry facilities and TV may be available if pre-arranged.
I will be present during guest stays, and enjoy conversing with guests. If you prefer to be alone, there are several rooms to escape to, and a screen porch in summer.
Please plan to arrive for check in after 4 pm, and check out by 11 am.
Please refrain from smoking in the house or outside.

I'm a visual artist, and have taught art, worked as a graphic designer and a librarian. Travel and exploring art and nature fuel my creative energy, and I'm happiest when I'm working in my studio, listening to a good audio book. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing info on the many outdoor and cultural offerings in this region.
