Newly renovated traditional yet modern feel . Please come and enjoy this simple apartment while you are in Okinawa, Japan. It is near the heart of Naha city. Your apartment is a clean sunny nice place on the 2nd floor. (the floor of a building at street level is the ground floor for you, then it's on the 1st floor) I live in the same apt bldg. This is the apartment bldg my grandfather built 45 years ago. VERY OLD. You can have a taste of the ordinary Okinawans' life. Your room has futons (no western beds) so you can have authentic experience of Japan !

I supply towels, toilet paper, a hair dryer, a refrigerator, a microwave, a toaster, cups and small dishes and a electronic pot. You also have WiFi.

The apartment is FAR enough to be out of the tourist areas but CLOSE enough to go by walking and feel the authentic life of ordinary people.

You should be happy with where you stay. The apartment is behind Okinawa Red Cross Hospital. Yogi Park and Naha Police Station are very near the apartment. Please find one of them on a map to see if you are comfortable with the location. Many guests find this place to be convenient and some not. Be sure you are happy with the location.

From the airport, take a monorail, get off at Akamine Station. Take a bus #89 to get to Yogi Intersection bus stop. The apartment is 200 meters away from the bus stop. I will send the detailed info on that as it gets closer to your arrival.

You can walk to Hokusai street(International Street) and Heiwa street in 15-25 min depending on the route you take.

The closest monorail stations are Asato Station, Tsubogawa Station. (if you don't mind walking 25 min. Not recommended if you have luggages to carry) If you want to know the exact location of the apartment, find Okinawa Red Cross (the apartment is behind the hospital) to see if you will be happy with the location.

I live in the same bldg and I work from home a lot of times but I will be out of the bldg also. I am raising my daughter who was born in Dec, 2015. So I am home more these days. I'd be happy to give you recommendations of places. Please feel free to talk to me ! I'd love to help you when my time allows me to do so.

For the middle of Naha, the neighborhood is quiet and you will feel comfortable in this neighbourhood. There are restaurants, which are serve local food. Immediately within a block of the building is the post office, a hospital, a police station, pharmacy, grocery stores, Big supermarkets are also near. You can experience authentic life of Okinawans here.

It's located on the major bus routes. There are other local buses too. The nearest monorail station is a 25 minute walk away to Asato station. The bus stop is Yogi Jyujiro (Yogi intersection) Kokusai Street(International Street) and Heiwa Street are within 15-25 minutes walk. It's far enough to feel what it is like to live here as a local but it is close enough to go to the downtown of Naha.

Please come to this island where your soul can rest and be refreshed !

Thank you so much for visiting my page. I love traveling and staying in places that are new to me. I've been to more than 35 countries by now. I love being in Okinawa and this is my hometown and I'd love you to experience this beautiful island. One of the best experiences I've had while I was traveling is to stay at a place where I could meet locals and experience what they eat and where they go and what they do. My husband and I are enjoying life in Naha with our daughter who was born in Dec, 2015 and cute cocker spaniel named Miracle. (The cat in my profile photo is my husband's parents' cat named Angelica in South Africa) I am a portrait photographer and the passionate owner of Aiko Photography. I hope you will have a great time in Okinawa, Japan ! This apartment was built 45 years ago by my grandpa who passed away at the age of 94. I feel privileged to share this old apartment with people from all over the world ! If your experience of life is only living in a big house and space, you get to have a taste of how people can manage to live in a small space. The last several decades, many singles, couples, students and families have lived in the apt bldg and currently do. It will be a real ordinary life of ordinary people in Okinawa.
