À propos de ce logement
This cozy cabin provides a perfect getaway and is a gem in all seasons, especially during the fall colors or a blowing winter storm.
Timber frame cabin built on a hilltop, on 20 acres of old growth maples. Walls of glass, a screened in porch and a wrap around deck bring the outdoors inside. The ridge top location has spectacular views through the trees - with lake views after the leaves drop.
The property also boasts a fantastic new cedar sauna and a high fence for pets to run free.
The timber frame cabin is located in Hovland MN, which is 30 minutes north of Grand Marais, near the Canadian border and lake Superior. The timber frame cabin was built only a few years ago.
The property also boasts a fantastic new cedar sauna, a firewood shed and a 90' X 90' x 8' foot high fence for pets to run free.
The cabin sleeps up to 3 in beds (1 double bed & 1 sleeping cot) and many more on floor and/or outside in the screened in porch. We accept up to 6 guests at a time. Camping is also an option with the wide space. Please email for details.

Accès des voyageurs
As guests, you'll have private access to the entire cabin for the duration of your stay.
The road to the cabin is a paved road with the last mile as gravel. There is an unmaintained gravel hill just before the cabin which is rough and can be particularly tricky after heavy rainfall. If you are not driving an SUV you may choose to park where Tom Lake road Y's off and walk up to the cabin. It is an uphill walk for about 200 yards (15min) to the driveway on your left.
Keep an eye out for the orange and blue "Mokki" signs at key intersections (off Arrowhead, at the Y at Tom road, at the driveway).
Access to the cabin once there is snow on the ground is via snowshoeing or walking. Consider the use of a plastic kids sled to help carry in your supplies.
When there is snow, the road stops being plowed part way up. When this is the case, there is a plowed parking area approx 200 yards after you turn onto Tower Rd. It is an open area, on the right hand side (north side) of the maintained road. From here, the walk up is approximately 1.2 miles or 30-45min, mostly uphill. The road is plowed for a bit longer past the parking, but parking should be in this open area.
Network Service: There is no cell phone reception at the cabin. You can walk approx 10min further up the road to receive some service.
Dogs: We do allow dogs at the Mokki cabin, but we do not allow them inside the cabin at any time. There is a large fenced in area (with fence running underground to prevent digging) in the woods made specifically for dogs. It is located part way along the driveway on your right hand side as you arrive, there is a Mokki sign indicating its location.
Sauna Liability: Please note that guests use sauna at their own risk.
