I'm Sue and this is Moet. I'm a well travelled writer, creative and self employed business woman. I love to meet fellow adventurers and travellers, play hostess to my beautiful city and share adventure stories. Moet is my fur child, he's Burmese and loved by many. He even has his own fan club!
Our home is our sanctuary and we look forward to sharing this beautiful space with you during your visit to Sydney.
I'm happy to assist where I can with you making plans and arrangements to get the best out of your time here. Ask me questions via email before you come and I'll do my best to point you in the right direction.
At times, I do get busy and I also appreciate that not everyone wants social interaction. That's absolutely fine! I'm happy to have a chat, share a coffee, tea or glass of wine and even the occasional meal for longer-term guests.
You're welcome to hang out watching TV with me and Moet - it's your time to spend in this peaceful retreat which is filled with light during the day and lit with twinkling lights and candles at night. So if you prefer to relax in the courtyard, the living room or your personal space.
Your sanctuary in our home
It will be your sanctuary too when you spend time in this peaceful retreat which is filled with light during the day and lit with twinkling lights and candles at night. Relax in the courtyard, the living room or your personal space - a beautiful room with a private balcony with views of the city - 15 minutes away by bus or light rail.
Surrounded by beautiful parks, the brand new Tramsheds (gourmet eatery is just) opens up at the end of our street in September 2016!
Your room features a queen bed, cozy linen, a desk, wifi and a mini art gallery.
Shared facilities for guest use: You may use the facilities in the house - washing machine, dryer, television (with free to air TV channels and Fetch TV, DVDs) and wi-fi. You will be sharing a bathroom (with bath) with just me.
Tea and coffee is complimentary. I encourage shorter-term guests to take advantage of our proximity to the city, Chinatown, The Star Casino and local restaurants and explore our culinary delights! Longer-terms guests may want to use the fully equipped kitchen for meal preparation. Storage in the fridge is welcome – and supermarkets are within 5-7 min walk.
Annandale is a beautiful neighbourhood and so close to the city. It's sweet, quaint, surrounded by parklands and foreshores and close to the CBD of Sydney. The vibrant shops and cafes in the inner west suburbs are within 10-15 minutes. We are also very close to University of Sydney and University of Technology campus at Chippendale, Glebe and Broadway.
If you're coming by car - there is ample, free parking on the street.
You can also borrow the push bike and helmet if you like!
A guide to public transport:
It’s just a 10-15 minute stroll to village areas of Glebe, Annandale where you’ll find cafes, restaurants, shops and supermarkets.
By light rail – our stop is Jubilee Park station, which is a 3 min walk from our house. Heading toward the city, you’ll connect with: Glebe, Fish Markets, Star Casino, Pyrmont Bay, Darling Harbour, Convention, Chinatown and Central. It’s a short stroll into the CBD and Town Hall to connect to trains.
By bus: the bus stops are a 2 and 7 min walk away from our house.
• Heading to the city via Glebe, Broadway and Central Station (train) and the CBD via 433 or 470 buses.
• Heading west to Balmain Villages (10 min) on the 433 bus and to Rozelle Village and outlet shopping at Birkenhead Point Point from Victoria Road buses.
•Heading to Coogee Beach 370 bus via Glebe and Newtown to Coogee.
It’s a pleasant walk through the city to see the sites around Town Hall and the QVB, shopping in Pitt St Mall. If you don’t feel like walking take a train to Circular Quay to access ferries, the historic Rocks area, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.
For guests arriving at the airport I recommend:
• a taxi via non-toll roads and depending on the time of day is between $35-$45
• Catch a train to Central Station and transfer to either the light rail to Jubilee Park or catch the 433 bus to Nelson St bus stop.
In certain situations I MAY be able to assist with car transportation and will absolutely help you with any other kinds of arrangements, suggestions and planning for trips further afield.
Please don't hesitate to ask questions! Always happy to help.
