What a wonderful and welcoming home! As soon as we arrived, Veerle, her husband, and some of their neighbors/friends immediately offered us a drink, tons beer and pub recommendations, and a detailed walk-through of the best places to see on a map. They even invited us for a game of kubb and a picnic at the park right behind their place. The room itself is adorable - at the top floor of a five or six (?) floor house (the house is very vertical, made up of several half-floors), so it's a bit of a climb to get there. But once you arrive, you're greeted with a big, comfy bed, a couch to lounge on, a TV and DVD player with tons of movies, and a shelf stuffed with interesting books - and there were even two bottles of water, earplugs, sleeping masks, and some chocolates! The room is bright and airy, with several skylight windows that can open up, and a terrace at the back with chairs and a table to relax, chat, and stargaze from. The bathroom is on the floor below. It's huge and clean, and even has a washing machine and dryer. Veerle and Alexis also let us use two of their bikes to get around town, which ended up saving us a lot of time and money exploring Antwerp. The house is also right above/around the corner from some wonderful restaurants/bars - on our last night, we enjoyed some amazing live music and beers at the bar on the corner.
I can't recommend Veerle and her home enough. I've never met such immediately friendly and accommodating hosts!
