We had a lovely stay at Alexandra's place. First, if I could give Alexandra more than 5 stars as a host, I definitely would! She was welcoming, helpful, warm, and friendly. Our little daughter wasn't feeling well and Alexandra went out of her way to check in and see how she was doing or if she could help out in any way. She offered great ideas of what to do, and we really enjoyed her restaurant recommendations.
We enjoyed the apartment. The area of town seemed busy, but it's located on an unexpectedly quiet no-through street. If you come with a car I recommend getting Alexandra to book the parking spot for you; it's very convenient and safe, and such a relief to not have to search for a spot on the street! There were many amenities within an easy walk to the apartment, including several terrific pizzerias, coffee shops, grocery and produce shops, and more.
The apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious, and modern. Just like the photos. We didn't cook much so I can't speak much to the kitchen, but it seemed fairly rudimentary.
Two concerns we had were:
(1) soundproofing. Another reviewer has commented on the dance school downstairs; we had the same experience. It wasn't just the dance school, however, sometimes I double and triple-checked the windows to make sure they were actually closed, because I could clearly hear conversations happening outside as though there weren't any windows at all! That said, in the evening the street became very quiet and I couldn't hear a thing, so sleep wasn't disturbed at all.
(2) the wifi connection was slow and spotty. It's certainly enough to check your email and do some surfing, but we were looking to work, and found the wifi limiting for these purposes.
I think you'll have a great stay at Alexandra's. She really wants you to have a great time and enjoy her part of Italy, and it shows!
